The most hilarious part of the podcast for me that many have missed is when Joe tells Maynard that the two major hold outs for streaming services are Tool and Garth fucking Brooks. Maynard is obviously gobsmacked and has to realign somehow that Garth and Tool have something somewhat in common.

and the thunder rolls

Yes it prompts Maynard to say that he couldn't really object to their songs being played out of sequence (which I'd heard somewhere was a reason for TooL not streaming) when they do it themselves on tour.

Interesting sidenote about MJK falling into the mobile gaming/in app purchase hole for a while. So that's where his "get off the phone"-lyrics on the last APC record come from.

Maynard reminds me of me. He seems to care about people a lot like I do but he also seems to get frustrated by their ignorance and stupidity, like I do. What I'm trying to say is basically I am maynard.

Aahh feels good to get that off my chest.

I’m trying to put together a list of literary influences on Maynard... more so than that old reading list on the old toolband site. I know he’s a big fan of Joseph Campbell. Can anyone else name other books or authors that influenced him?
