Is there news on the first winner other than the photo of King Buzzo holding it?  Or are you implying you have one?

Personally, if I were to win one I'd think twice about making the news public.

Why would you think twice? Seems like no matter what the prize, it would be one to celebrate.

There are some pretty strange Tool fans out there.  Depending on what the prize was, I may not necessarily want them to know what I had access to.

Same goes if I won the lotto.  No chance I'd be making that public.

Someone should just photoshop Adam's face onto this picture now for when we eventually learn what the ticket holders actually get

I wouldn't count on winning anything major from Tool given their fan treatment as of late- maybe a Moomba show bag at best lol. So comparing this gimmicky golden ticket to even a Division 2 or 3 Lotto win is like comparing apples and oranges.

Direct quote from my bud on Facebook:

The USA is playing Canada at ice hockey here in june. There is a vip ticket which comes with a meet and greet after the game with ALL the players, a sky box with free food and drink and it only costs $330ish

Oh God. Don't act like that is some out-of-reach or unattainable statement that you have been searching for on the forums, and waiting for someone to declare so you may demonstrate that your opinions have finally been vindicated.

Truth is, there is a lot of fucking-pretty-strange-everybody out there. All musical groups or celebrities have some fanatical sect of fans willing to do nearly anything for a chance at contact, exclusive prizes, etc. And it doesn't have to be limited to those types of groups either. There is a little strange in all regions, all countries, all walks of life.

This is no revelation.

Agreed.

What's stranger is why you felt the need to change font size for an entire paragraph in your post.

Or are you being meta?

It was an accident. Just Metta being Metta.

I'm an Aussie, so those armpits are lost on me - but I appreciate the attempt at humour.

Ah, that is the basketball player formally known as Ron Artest. His name is now "Metta World Peace". Not making it up. Verify it, if you like.

At any rate, we now return the board to their regularly scheduled Golden Ticket discussion...

His name is "Metta World Peace" and this is how he behaves:

Also assaulted a fan once. Good guy.

Out of context; but that's pretty fucked up, regardless.

It's actually not out of context. It's actually worse when you see the whole video.  How that dude is still in the NBA is beyond me.

I for one will share if it happens to me.

Very curious as to what it looks like as well.  Most forums have the rule... pics or it didn't happen as mentioned before

LoL.  Something special for TA members.  You must not have been a member for long

One of the reasons why I will never join.

I definitely wouldn't recommend that anyone sign up now, but I'll have been a TA member for 10 years this October and received a number of cool and exclusive items.

More importantly I got to interact with an amazing group of Tool fans. Granted, there were some nut jobs in there, but that's just life in general.

I truly wish TA would reinstate their messageboard. It was one of a kind.

As for these golden tickets, I have a suspicion that they're the new "10,000 Days" puzzle: They don't really exist.
So Long, and Thanks for All the Tool.
