I was going to suggest that it would be both of them earlier, but I didn't for some reason.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
I have to disagree with you there. It is the same exact riff, just played at a different tempo. It's the riff Adam plays towards the end of the song ("Shine on forever..."). I would put loads of money on that clip being one of the many "digressions" they tried with those riffs and didn't use.hellboy wrote:There's a very vague similarity, but as I said it's a stretch. It mostly just sounds like "Tool fucking around in the Loft" to me, as do most of the live segues people post as new material.iloveposters wrote: Thanks!!!! Not sure how that sounds like Jambi at all though
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
those webcasts or whatever are pretty cool to listen to.. and correct me if im wrong but the majority of them have came out BEFORE the album release? interested to know if they will even do one for the new album..
to be honest im a little worried they wont take the next album as seriously post-release, as in possibly not making music videos, touring it much, promoting it (webcasts, interviews)... i dunno just a thought ive had, i just dont "feel" like they will be as into it as past releases.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Oh they will.
Also after listening to that "thing" at the end of that webcast, the audio definitely sounds manipulated. It could have been an early clip of Jambi that was slowed down without altering the pitch (it sounds like some of that digital "distortion" you get when you do that to audio).

I guess that means that Danny didn't win it? ^^^^
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Of course not. Not sure who won. Doesn't matter. Tomas Haake is the greatest metal drummer on the planet by a country mile. DC might be a better all around drummer, although that could easily be debated. I certainly wouldn't call DC a metal drummer. In terms of metal, it's Tomas and then everyone else. Fact.ToolFanFromWayBack wrote:I guess that means that Danny didn't win it? ^^^^

I'm pretty sure the candidates had to have released an album last year and I don't think Volto! is the kind of music they give awards to at this event.ToolFanFromWayBack wrote:I guess that means that Danny didn't win it? ^^^^

^ Yeah he did drum his nuts off on the Volto! album. No matter what I think of Tool, I can't hate on Danny's skill.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
I HAVE SOME NEWS!!!!:
The American guy I use as a "go to" for all the music news that is presented on my radio program here in sunny ol' Melbourne, has come up with a tasty tidbit regarding Tool (FINALLY!!). Do not read any further if you don't want spoilers......well derr...:
I take this "news" with a pinch of salt...HOWEVER I cannot remember the last time his information did not prove to be more than worthy (He was right about Neurosis and their last album for a start AND gave me a blow by blow description of King Animal a month before it was released). But of course it goes without saying that this "news" is far from "official". So don't get all angsty with me if shit doesn't happen.
I'm still sticking to a 2015 release date though. This is Tool remember.

That's more or less where I thought they'd be at this point, though I'm still a "it'll be out when it's out" guy. Whatevs.
A sign that this might be true is that beside that bday concert, May Jay has nothing going on with Puscifer and APC at a time of the year when he normally might, especially Puscifer.

True. Exactly how I feel.
Bummer he didn't share a tidbit that was a little more "earth shattering".

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
"Tour Promoters" aren't that close to the band that they would be privy to that kind of information. Promoters (in the US) are local or regional. On the most recent tour, I can only think of 1 promoter rep who did more than one of the shows, and he did 2 of them, not several.
Sounds bogus to me.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Danny is enjoying Stumpfest this weekend with Jon Theodore (Mars Volta, QOTSA) and Sebastian Thomson (TransAm, Baroness)
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Cool pic. I would have loved to have gone to Stumpfest. Some awesome bands were part of that line up. Dig how they do the small, intimate venue thing. Would love to see it grow beyond just the Pacific Northwest and see it hit some other cities.badkittygothgirl wrote:Danny is enjoying Stumpfest this weekend with Jon Theodore (Mars Volta, QOTSA) and Sebastian Thomson (TransAm, Baroness)

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Sounds bogus that the band as a whole would listen to the music they have created so far?? They're on tour together for a start. Sounds reasonable to me.junior wrote:Sounds bogus to me.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
That part isn't that far-fetched. The part that sounded bogus to me is that a promoter rep would know about it and also know how the band reacted to it.Calfium Jay wrote:Sounds bogus that the band as a whole would listen to the music they have created so far??
