Random Tool Social Media thread
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Some form of gesture would be nice, I think we can all agree on that. My only advice for anyone is don't hold your breath.

So, different live production for festivals and arenas?
(bear with me here)
Reminds me of what NIN did in 2013- different production for festivals and fall arena tour- so maybe they are working on something. Obviously this would assume a new album comes out next year, and as good as Tool's live production is, it is getting long my in the tooth for us that have seen some form of it since 10k Days tour.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
So this part of newsletter catches my eye/ear…….~~~ “The project”~~~~. Didn’t Justin say in an interview that they were currently working on the biggest project of their lives? yes I am attempting to dig.
~~~
BMB: Are there video ideas that you have that you would like to see incorporated in the live show that can’t be done for whatever reason, and if so, what might these be?
BRECK: Yes, but we’re still trying, so I can’t say much. The project has new hope after we were contacted by the group that produced the rainbow over Levi’s Stadium for the Grateful Dead show this year. There’s a high demand for fake rainbows these days, so they don’t have a lot of time, but with any luck we’ll have a prototype working for the big Halloween show. You’ll know what I’m talking about when you see it!
They're gonna attempt to make a hologram of MJK standing at the front of the stage, with a giant pumpkin made out of lasers to the left of Danny.
Don't speculate too much, or Califum will be forced to find another emoticon.Ettan wrote:I'm leaning towards a DVD is soon to be made.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
yeah i wish Tool would at least acknowledge the fans enough to give us a thank you. This band hasnt produced a damn thing in 10 years and yet Blairs email is likely full every month with questions. People are sticking with them and they dont even acknowledge it in the slightest. Adam used to post random clips from the loft but that too has went away.hellboy wrote:Some form of gesture would be nice, I think we can all agree on that. So far, we're approaching the 10 year mark, and the experiment has been a resounding success. They may stretch it to 15 years!
Well, it's not like sticking with them is hard work for most. You don't need to actually do anything other than acknowledge that you're a Tool fan. I'd argue the rants and tirades associated with not "sticking with them" are harder work.xZ1mM3r wrote:People are sticking with them and they dont even acknowledge it in the slightest.
I don't know. I think they do owe me something after all of the money I've spent on massage treatments and medication to deal with the incredible burden of near constant waiting. Doc says my spine may never recover it's shape.
You should buy a blanket to keep you warm through these dark times
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
I wonder how much it would cost to buy some Tool shirts and make a blanket yourself...
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Shirts from the Tool shop seem to average around $25 each, and you'd need 7 shirts to do one (6.5 shirts actually). 7 * 25 = $175 + other materials for the blanket, probably another $20 or so. You can probably get shits for cheaper on amazon or hot topic or something I'd guess.
I don't need to go to Hot Topic to get shits.
I'll go to a near-by McDonald's for the cheapest shits, thank you very much.
That Adam picture on Facebook would be a lot cooler if it didn't look like it was buffering.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
The blankets are roughly the same price as the shirts used. Which doesn't really seen like recycling. Though it may be easier to move one blanket than 7 shirts these days
also, Avatar!
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Roughly the same price as we'd pay for a shirt, but based on how much the band would pay for them, there's still a significant margin.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
I really love the video designer interview. Haggerty is basically a band member. I saw the NEV in action the 2nd go-round in 2001 (Berkeley August 11, 2001) and the visuals altered the entire dynamic of the live performance. Every change since then has had as similar effect. The video projections onto Maynard's stand during Lateralus (and his makeup) were the highlight of the Final show of that tour (Long beach 11/24/02). The lighting and video effect the performance to a degree. The improvisational aspect is amazing. Excited for the show on Halloween.
