i could give two shits who the money is going to. they would still make more than most if not everyone on 4theye makes combined in a year. that is pure greed. whats the difference between giving record companies millionaires money they dont need and rock band millionaires money they dont need?

piss poor apologist excuse defending what adam said, really.

What?  I wasn't disagreeing with you.  Jesus fuck you jump at any chance to attack people here and the band.

I'd prefer for the money to go to the millionaire who actually worked on it than to the millionaire who had nothing to do with it.

If that makes me an "apologist" then I'm an "apologist".  I should've known better than to try to converse with you.

Strangely enough I'm indifferently to a live dvd. Yea I'd buy it but I wouldn't care if one wasn't released.

I'd fuck that Live DVD.

i wasnt attacking you personally. i gave my argument. also you left out the last part of what i said, which is exactly why the record company deserves whatever take they can get from a band that has taken over 20 years to fulfill a 5 album contract.

That's because you edited that in afterwards.  Nice try.

"piss poor apologist excuse defending what adam said, really."

Oh yea sure, not an attack.

But to expand on your record company edit, they do have a contract where they gave up money for extra freedom/creative freedom, so the company does already get extra money.  So there goes that argument.

Oh my I'm not reading all that past the first sentence.

The record company is not the villain.  All I'm saying is the artist should get more than the suits.  Ok?  Ok.  I'm done with this.

How about we stop arguing about TOOLs laziness/greed to complete their contract, & resume arguing about whether or not THEY should release their album digitally or not..

Sure.

Now take some of your own advice and go ahead an add something.

godDAMNIT Pig, don't get upset! (I'm on your side!)
but ok. My take on digital? As long as there is still some form of physical copy (which of course there will be), then I will not be bothered. Though, if there is a 'purely digital' copy available, I will be surprised, as I've always considered the physical artwork with a TOOL album to be essential/ necessary to complete the experience

@trllobite

Ha I'm nowhere near upset.

What you wrote there is pretty much what will probably happen.  No single song downloads, album as a whole only with the artwork included.

I'm thinking May Jay finally convinced Lazy Bones to go down this route as well.

Personally at this point, I'll be more than happy to pay my $20 for their geriatric 5th album, as long as my Judo-grip HJ from MJK comes free 'o charge..

I love how out of these VIP sessions we are getting sweet information on the bands past and present projects. It almost deserves it's own thread where we can collate all the info learned in the past couple of weeks?

Digital would be cool by me.Would force me out of the stone age anyway.

A digital release.Followed by various levels of custom packaging in CD,DVD,and vinyl formats.

Fortunately, we have several live DVDs thanks to the bootleg community.  My favorite is this one and yes, I have watched it several times.

They did. Somebody mentioned it in another thread, apparently he's still working on it.

Yep. And that he wanted to tie it in with the new album somehow.

Speaking of, did Snazz ever post his review of his experience?

No. I don't think he's back from Australia yet.

Which is understandable, since it's only been since 2006 that he's been working on it.

it doesn't take 7 years to make a music video, he's just lazy.

and that's how Adam Jones of Tool got his nick name "Lazy Bones".
