I forgot to post #8 from the other day:
Most of you who know me well know that I like heavy music, so it would possibly come as no surprise to many to see Hooker With A Penis entering my Tool Top 10 list. It features Adam’s guitar cranked to 11, and Maynard’s rage level cranked just as high.

Lyrically it’s not one that is open for a great deal of interpretation – Maynard’s rant about artisitic integrity is as clear as mud, and rings true for the band 17 years later. The attitude of “the band is always right” is one that resonates with me, and while many may argue that the band should be more fan friendly, you can’t say that they haven’t lived up to the content of the lyrics.

Danny’s drumming is also a highlight of this track for me. As Aenema was the first Tool album I purchased, this was the first track that really highlights for me his poise behind the kit. Some of my musician friends had pointed out the sublime drum roll at the bginning of Sober, but this track really reinforced his skill to me personally. The manic “Buy, buy, send more money” parts at the end really hit me.
#7 coming soon!

I'm literally on the edge of my seat here.

What would be better though - in all seriousness - from hellboy, would be a Top 10 of Aussie Rawk Toons From My Collection What Are The Sickest!

The Grinspoons! the You Am I's! The Regurgitators! the Something For Kates!!

Now that's something I'd bother taking the time to read!!

Something tells me you're being disingenuous and none of those bands have 'the' infrant of they're name, moran.

Soooo HB Even though I think you've stated there will be no more Undertow in your line up....I thought your love for Swamp Song will mean it will swoop in to take the number one spot?

I think every time I've done one of these top 10 tool songs it's differed. But I would agree with Flood being in the top 10, perhaps around 5 for me though...not sure if HAWP and Jambi would make the grade...even though that HAWP video was pretty chur.

Just to prove this shit doesn't take 2 weeks to announce & also that no one particularly gives a flying fuck about what each others favourite top 10's are, here would be mine off top off my head.

Lateralus
10,000 Days (Wings 2)
Pushit
The Grudge
Eulogy
46 & 2
Aenima
Flood
Rosetta Stoned
Reflection

^ Good list!

Ignorant fucker.

I couldn't even begin a 10 worst Tool songs list, while I prefer some over others, I can't think of one I actually dislike.

Well maybe Reflection, that song is so fucking lame 'the moon tells me a secret' LOL

Reflection took years to grow on me, but I dig the shit out of it these days.. Couldn't really pick a 10 worst either. I'd be interested to see Mog's 10 things I hate about Tool list. Wonder if he could condense it to only 10 though..

Mog treats Tool like an investor would Apple, he sees himself as an investor in the band and expects returns on his investment, he has no idea on how or why art works the way it does, he expects a laturalusv5 or a aenimav6 each year with 4g connectivity.

Unbeknownst to him, he is the victim of the updatability generation coupled with the consumerist generation which happened before, kinda hilarious when you realise he works in IT. He wants Tool to release the freshest hits each and every season.

He's a joke and he'll be the last person to realise it.

As to Mog realising these facts, it'll always be the last place he looks.

You have no soul.

Also, if "Lateralus" isn't in your top three, I'm breaking up with you.

FUCK YOU, CUNTFACE.

I'll take a quick shot at a top ten:

Lateralus, jimmy, H., The Grudge, Parabol/a, Triad, Third Eye, 4 motherfucking Degrees, Intolerance, Flood.

Not quite sure of the order. First three up there looks about right. Depends. "No Quarter" would be the stunt-cock in that list.

As to a least favourite - meh. TOOL songs are a lot like beer. Even when they're not as good as you'd like them to be, or even expect - they still do the fucking job. And well.
O love will you read the letters I will send to you.
