TOOL - Cumbre Tajín Mexico 2014

Post by Ettan »

Thought we could post our thoughts here instead of the social media thread. First thing I want to bring up is; Will there be any new material played ? I think it's possible, but it won't happen.

No new music will be played, similar songs as to played in Australia.

No surprises.

I really hope they bring out a different setlist. If Maynard can't sing songs without using a megaphone don't bother playing them. 1998 Setlist or early 2001 setlist was the best imo

Maynard half naked without being glued to the ground would be a nice thing as well.

*Spoilers!!*

Heard from a source that this will be the set list:

Disgustipated (Instrumental version)
Useful Idiot (Extended version)
Message to Harry Manback 1 & 2
Mantra
Swamp Song
Intermission (Extended 15 minute version, instead of their usual break)
Vigniti Tres
Faaip de Oiad (May Jay on drums)
The Pot
Cesaro Summability
15 minutes of that rumbling sound they play
L.A.M.C. (you guessed it, Extended 25 minute Version)

Sounds good to me!

Predictable posts are predictable (as will be the setlist I'm afraid).

Yeah I live in San Diego and never thought my wife would be on board, but I showed her the video about the festival and now we are seriously considering it. What a beautiful people and beautiful place to see these 3 kick ass bands.

A Mexican Tool show is way overdue. The last time they went to Mexico was November 1994. It'd be cool if they threw in a couple U.S. shows while they're at it. It's going on 8 years, what's another 6 months?

Hooker With A Penis
Vicarious
Forty Six & Two
Sober
Jambi
Schism
Lateralus (plus extended jam)
Intermission
You Lied
Intension
Pushit
Aenima
Stinkfist

I'm calling it now. Nothing new. No new material. When asked - "we're still writing". Will coincide with the release of the Undertow reissue.

Watch and see. Could this band be any more predictable?

Will the concert be performed in Spanish?

The concert will indeed be performed in Spanish. A large pinata will be set up in the middle of the stadium. Every man for himself and Margaritas all round....
