"On average, about 5% of a devices storage capacity is reserved for this operating firmware. Unfortunately, as the size of the data capacity increases, so does the size of the space needed for the firmware. For a point of reference, a 1GB USB flash drive requires about 72Mb of space for firmware; where as a 32GB flash drive requires about 2.2GB worth of space for firmware.

So taking a look back at the original question, how much space does a USB flash drive really have? Well it depends on the size of the USB drive, but on average it is a safe bet to take off 5% of the advertised capacity and that is the realistic data capacity size."

^ Exactly right. I just purchased a 2TB hard drive but it actually has 1.8TB of storage space.

I have not. Â My credit card was charged on 4/4 and I haven'tÂ received any shipping emails. Â Also, my order is still listed as "processing" on the Toolband website. Â

I ordered mine on 3/26, a few hours after the public sale started.

My card was charged on 4/4.

I just received the shipping email from merchintosh today, 4/16 at 10:24am PST, and my order on ToolArmy was changed from 'Processing' to 'Shipped'.

So three weeks from purchase date until shipping date. Could be worse I guess?

East coast here. Â Where is my package? Â

Reasons that I would worry:

1. I ordered from TA late in the presale. Â I ordered #5 after it had appeared to sellout but then it returned later. Â It was the only one showing as available at the time. Â Was it really truly still available? Â Maybe not.

2. I changed my address right before I placed the order. Â The confirmation email I received later that night did have my new address in it though. Â Hopefully not an issue.

3. Someone in Portugal already got theirs. Â Haha. Â Hi alientool!

4. Maybe my wife got the mail the day it came and threw it in the pond because I didn't ask her permission to make the purchase.

5. I forgot to tip my mailman this year around the holidays.

6. Order Status still says "New" on Toolarmy as of today 4/16/13

Reasons not to worry

1. I got an email on 3/31/13 that my order had shipped

2. My card was charged on 4/1/13

3. I won't be too upset if I don't get it as long as they credit my money back. Â I was so on the fence on whether to get it to begin with.

Send Merch an email and let them know you're concerned. All of the packages were sent with a USPS tracking number. They canÂ tell you if it actually left and if it was lost somewhere along the way.

Oh fuck. Have just realised that my address on the TA register is my old one. Severe oversight on my part - praying to Captain Planet and whoever else will listen that the people that live at my old place are: a) home when i get there this afternoon, and b) not arseholes.
