Post-rock band With Our Arms To The Sun emailed me last night and suggested I take a listen to their EP.  I did and it's not bad.  Almost like Tool without vocals.  Take a listen:

Listening now.  Not getting the Tool reference necessarily.  They are more of a feel band, not technical - it's pretty basic compositionally and execution-ally (musicianship), but you're right, not bad overall.

Personally I though some of the guitar and bass tones, as well as a few of the riffs were more of a TOol sound than your typical post rock band.

I haven't seen, nor heard anything of my only cousin for over 15 years.  Just yesterday, while searching for some new industrial music to check out, I accidentally stumbled across what turned out to be his project.  Seems he ended up in Australia, under the name x.a.o.s.  Maybe I'm being biased due to it being a long lost relative, but as a fan of industrial I think its quite good.

Check out a couple tracks.

No offense of course, and glad you dig it.  But that did nothing for me.  I've never been a fan of Industrial, so take that into account.  As I've said before, I prefer real musicians making music with actual instruments to someone manipulating canned beats and loops on a DAW.

Offense??   Shit man, no worries, none taken.  To each his own.

As I said, I've been a fan of the genre for many, many years so I was pretty stoked to find it.

Most definitely not for everyone thought =)

Very good band.  If you like those guys, check out Rosetta.  Even better imo.  Callisto is another band worth checking out.  But Rosetta in particular is outstanding.

^Liked that.  Thanks for posting it Mog.  Though I'm not the biggest fan of the cookie monster-esque singing it didn't bother me too much on that song.

Lofi Adelaide Stoner Rockers have a new Cassingle out.  For those who'd rather not dust out their tape deck you can listen (and purchase) it digitally via Bandcamp.

I'll be checking them out tonight presuming Lustmord doesn't finish too late.

Inter Arma released their new album yesterday called Sky Burial.  This album will no doubt be on many best of 2013 metal lists.  Fantastic album from start to finish.  A mixture of a black metal, sludge, doom and a little prog.  Atmospheric, Brooding, and Brutal.  Go buy this album.

Call of the Void are a power violence band from Boulder, CO.  I read aboutt this album on Metal Sucks today, and it's a good one.  Here's some Bandcamp action for you.

Power Violence is an unusual genre name, but basically refers to hardcore punk bands that crossover with grindcore.

Fulgora are a new death/thrash metal band featuring Misery Index and Pig Destroyer drummer Adam Jarvis.  They just released a new 2 track EP which you can download for free.  Fans of the genre should check it out:
