Absolutely gutted to read of the passing of Neil Peart. Rush and Tool have had similar places in my life. Rush since high school and Tool Since college. Loading up some Blue Dream and putting Moving Pictures on the headphones.

A musical genius taken too soon.

Edit:
I saw this sentiment on one of the Rush fan sites and think Neil would agree - We should mourn the passing of Neil Peart, but more importantly, we should celebrate the fact that, across all time and in the blink of an eye we exist, we were privileged enough to have him in all our lives.

aaaah, i was shocked to hear the news. he was really private and not many knew he was fighting brain cancer for the last 3.5 years. Rush was my first fav band when i was growing up. They were the first concert i ever saw too. its hard to believe hes gone. what a drag! :(

in the spirit of drum gods there is this from 2010

Sad news indeed! Just heard of this and immediately had to come here and express my sorrow...😔
Rest in ☮️. Drumming will never sound the same without Peart...

cool! so it wasnt just the intro to Jambi and playing 2112 after the show. That instagram video kind of sounds like YYZ lol,but its awesome he did it. Someone else said they had 3 minutes of silence with this pic up. sounds like before they take the break or something, would be neat to see. its the same picture thats everywhere on the net.

Great picture of Neil and Danny. Is Neil standing on a riser? I don’t recall him being almost as tall as Danny.

Amen Neil...

Headlong Flight

All the journeys of this great adventure
It didn't always feel that way
I wouldn't trade them because I made them
The best I could, and that's enough to say

Some days were dark
I wish that I could live it all again
Some nights were bright
I wish that I could live it all again

All the highlights of that headlong flight
Holding on with all my might
To what I felt back then
I wish that I could live it all again

I have stoked the fire on the big steel wheels
Steer the airship right across the stars
I learned to fight, I learned to love, I learned to feel
Oh I wish that I could live it all again

All the treasures, the gold and glory
It didn't always feel that way
I don't regret it - I'll never forget it
I wouldn't trade tomorrow for today
Some days were dark
I wish that I could live it all again
Some nights were bright
I wish that I could live it all again

I have stoked the fire on the big steel wheels
Steer the airship right across the stars
I learned to fight, I learned to love, I learned to feel
Oh I wish that I could live it all again

The days were dark
And the nights were bright
I would never trade tomorrow for today

All the highlights of that headlong flight
Holding on with all my might
Some days were dark
I wish that I could live it all again
Some nights were bright
I wish that I could live it all again

I have stoked the fire on the big steel wheels
Steer the airship right across the stars
I learned to fight, I learned to love, I learned to feel
Oh I wish that I could live it all again

I have stoked the fire on the big steel wheels
Steer the airship right across the stars
I learned to fight, I learned to love, I learned to steal
Oh I wish that I could...
Oh I wish that I could live it all again
