Also, has MOUNTAIN GOATS/that dude who basically is the name whom I can't recall because I'm bent released anything decent since "THE SUNSET TREE"?

I would argue a resounding "no".

nice conversation with yourself, glad it turned out to be insightful, but I was referring to the tasty beverage I was overindulging in at the time

"Umbra" is the money, but everything else blows.

And, on a harddrive trying to stock up on shit until it finds itself once again back in the Nanny State, I say DELETED!

Imo the best non-vocal band out there in a long time.

I enjoyed them when I saw them live, but I wouldn't go so far as to say they're the best non-vocal band out there.

Hellboy, do you know what 'imo' stands for? I guess not..

Just as I wouldn't go to say that the half arsed acoustic Yank band with the crap female vocals you posted a few weeks ago was any good either.

That's just my OPINION.

It's ok for me to have an opinion too right?

I presume you mean Royal Thunder? I haven't listened to their half assed acoustic album, so have no comment there. I still think their last album is great, and don't walk away from that opinion, despite many on this forum with contrary views.

Sleepmakeswaves are good but they are FAR from the best instrumental rock band out there. Fuck they aren't even the best instrumental post-rock band. Russian Circles shits all over them. A number of instrumental post-metal bands that shit all over both of them.

Russian Circles... great band.
Sleep makes waves isn't that bad either.

Speaking of instrumental bands, I've been enjoying 65daysofstatic again recently. Anyone have any thoughts on them? Their more recent stuff is more industrial sounding but still really good. Here is an older one.

I disagree, Russian Circles is a good band but their songs usually stick to one type of jam or riff and I'm waiting and waiting for a build up but it in the end it doesn't full satisfy. Whereas Sleepmakeswaves craft and compose their songs so well that there is so much happening in the one song it always satisfies - love the use of synths.

Sleepmakeswaves is a lot more satisfying. They're both very different though.
