I would argue a resounding "no".
JOHN DARNIELLE. I fucking knew I knew it.
heh.
nice conversation with yourself, glad it turned out to be insightful, but I was referring to the tasty beverage I was overindulging in at the time
more of a bluesy evening this time around, but still with my good mate, goat:

It's ok for me to have an opinion too right?

I presume you mean Royal Thunder? I haven't listened to their half assed acoustic album, so have no comment there. I still think their last album is great, and don't walk away from that opinion, despite many on this forum with contrary views.

Sleepmakeswaves are good but they are FAR from the best instrumental rock band out there. Fuck they aren't even the best instrumental post-rock band. Russian Circles shits all over them. A number of instrumental post-metal bands that shit all over both of them.

Russian Circles... great band.
Sleep makes waves isn't that bad either.
Speaking of instrumental bands, I've been enjoying 65daysofstatic again recently. Anyone have any thoughts on them? Their more recent stuff is more industrial sounding but still really good. Here is an older one.

I disagree, Russian Circles is a good band but their songs usually stick to one type of jam or riff and I'm waiting and waiting for a build up but it in the end it doesn't full satisfy. Whereas Sleepmakeswaves craft and compose their songs so well that there is so much happening in the one song it always satisfies - love the use of synths.
Sleepmakeswaves is a lot more satisfying. They're both very different though.
