I definitely remember this. Good stuff. I wish the Soundcloud embed worked.

Fourtheye has been my favourite Tool news source for years, especially the forum. Because I love sarcasm, and it is much needed in this time of blankets and absurd rereleases.
Anyway, I just registered - for a good reason: Shameless self-promotion.
We (of the band PHI) are going to release our first live-album and DVD - and i honestly think that you guys might like our music. We just released a first clip from the DVD on youtube, which happens to be one of our few songs that have a strong Tool-vibe (D-Minor, Dropped D Tuning,...), otherwise we mostly got our own sound going, fusing elements of old and new progrock/metal.

Hey, I moved this post here because as I was catching up on the New Music thread (damn you guys are busy over there!), I noticed that this guy (from Austria apparently) put up this clip of his band and nobody even reacted to it. I think it deserves a listen.

This is one of the better Fourtheye member's (lurkers?) bands I've encountered so far. There are some great parts, but I'm not quite sold on the entire piece.

If you're still lurking, ThemX, what's your instrument?

Man, I just found this thread. Cool. I just ordered a carvin SCB7. I'll post when it gets to me. I never paid carvin much mind until I got into 7 strings. I ordered one with bunk electronics from eBay and returned it, so I could order one from Carvin. They are some of the highest quality instruments made. Even though the electronics needed work it played better than a PRS that costs twice as much. They let you customize everything and charge you less than any of the big brands. If you are looking for a new axe, I highly recommend Carvin. I don't mean advertise for them, but I'll never play anything else.

That was cool. Did you use a pitch shifter/harmonizer?

Anyways, I spent my night in here:

working on a secret recording that sounds a lot better than that last one.

Here's a sample:

Try and guess what song it is.

Much tighter than the other recording. But I liked your voice on the Beatles track. Keep it up, girl.

Here's a weird, little jazz piece I wrote tonight. It's all in shitty midi, but outside of the saxophone I think it sounds alright. I'm actually quite proud of it. Now to find some real musicians to play it. In the meantime, you're just going to have to imagine solos over the middle section.

Here's another Beatles song. This one has some problems, mainly the midi is pretty bad in some spots (I totally fucked up the trumpet solo), my singer was sick, and the piano could maybe have been a little louder. Overall though, it's not as bad as I remember it being. That trumpet solo is hilarious though.

I just recorded a new song called "The Mountains Marching" for my ambient metal project, A Great Mountain Had Carcosa. The link to my SoundCloud is here: A Great Mountain Had Carcosa.

Please let me know your feedback on either of the two tracks, and if you "follow" me on SoundCloud, I will "follow" you back! Thanks so much.
