I'm not sure what you guys are talking about.
Killer, catchy Clutch riffs on pretty much every track? Check.
Impeccable musicianship and vocals across the board? Check.
Great mix, where every instrument is dialed in and the vox is in perfect balance? Check.
Hell yes, early Clutch is amazing. But I can't think of a bad Clutch album. Everybody has their faves, as I certainly do. But I don't think they've fallen off in quality. If anything, they are tighter and more on top of their shit than ever.
As I posted earlier in this thread, on first listen I thought Earth Rocker was a little on the "pop" side of most Clutch albums, but that didn't stick with me after absorbing it, and especially seeing/hearing it live. PW had me from the beginning.
It's actually amazing how consistent the quality is with how prolific they have been. Their catalog is huge. Especially in comparison to other of my favorite bands....
