Yeah, we'll see.  I kinda wanted to see La Dispute, who are playing the next night, and I don't think I'd see both.  Seeing Demanufacture played is tempting though.

That's all I've really heard of theirs as well.  In fact I think it made my album of the year list.  I think it'd be a good show, though I'd probably be expecting them to cry on stage.

Tour name: DELTA Album Release Tour

In celebration of their highly anticipated new album Delta, Shapeshifter announce their Australian tour through August. Tickets on sale now.

9th August - The Metro, Sydney: http://bit.ly/DELTASYD
10th August - Hi Fi, Brisbane: http://bit.ly/DELTABRIS
16th August - Billboard, Melbourne: http://bit.ly/DELTAMEL
17th August - Metro City, Perth: http://bit.ly/DELTAPER

Recorded in Berlin, Woodhill and Wellington and incorporating elements of the 'heavy soul' tempered with drum & bass, jazz and funk that fans have become accustomed to, Delta sees Shapeshifter stretch their palette even further, adding club tempo feels and other more slanted elements into the mix, while at the same time pushing the man/machine interface that drives their music to new heights. While there is possibly no such thing as a 'typical' Shapeshifter album, all of their output shares a common thread - a willingness to experiment above and beyond genre confines.

This August sees the band undertake a Australian tour and fans know to expect the dancefloor anthems that have given Shapeshifter their justifiably fearsome live reputation both at home and around the world.

New Shapeshifter album DELTA out now!!

Here is something for the "Older" Prog rock fans around here. I wish the "Real" Jon, and Rick were still around, but.. Plus seeing Yes play The Yes album and Close To The Edge should be great. Also interested in seeing the Genesis tribute band play Foxtrot.. And of course seeing Carl Palmer again..

Sounds like a good day all around..

That's a great lineup.  Personally, I don't want to see Yes with the new singer.  He bugs me on many levels.

Saw The Musical Box do Lamb years ago and it was spectacular - wish they would come back and do Foxtrot here.  Don't miss them.  Scale the Summit will be a great show too.

Hope you enjoy.

You lucky sonofabitch. I don't think I'm going to be able to make any of the dates this go around. Harumph.

I also heard rumors that UK would be playing as well. It would be great to see them again, last time I saw them was in the stone age, for some reason I have been unable to catch the random reunion shows they have been doing..

^ Go check the main news page, ELP.  You'll be pleasantly surprised.

@ GOB - How does NIN skip SF on a tour like that?  Not sure I'd go anyway if Belew isn't touring, but I would consider it since I've never seen them.

NIN are well worth seeing, Belew or not.  I'm not a huge NIN fan, about half of their recorded stuff bores me, but live I would never miss them.

NIN is the only band that I've thought at times is better than Tool live.

Agreed!!!  They always put on the BEST live shows!  Don't worry Kittaan, he will come back around.  This is just the apppetizer.
