Looks like John Stanier won't be playing with the Mark of Cain on their tour in March.  Instead they're using some dude from and Adelaide screamo band:

Here's a link to his band:

Bus and Title were it for me.

Both have great tunes.  Not epic but quite good imo.

Maynard answers fan letters in the newest issue of Revolver.  Nothing too interesting.  Somebody asked him how frustrating it was to constantly get asked about the new Tool album, and then asked when the new Tool album comes out. Maynard's response:

I'm not a lazy person.

Maynard and a bunch of other twitteraccounts just retweeted

Shows that they're atleast aware of their surroundings, I suppose.

Edit: Well... I'm not sure how to make my post look better so that'll have to do.

Not a bad lineup, but a bit thinly spread over 3 days.

What's usually a good thing about a festival like this is when you find your antique that's WORTH something, ie your diamond in the rough.  There's always gonna be one band you haven't seen, thinking you might want to check out, you do and they end up being that awesome surprise you didn't see coming.

Depeche Mode have detailed their previously announced new album, the follow up to 2009's Sounds of the Universe

Delta Machine is out on March 26 via Columbia. The first single from the record, "Heaven", will debut via video on VEVO on February 1.

Delta Machine will be released as a standard edition as well as a deluxe edition that includes a bonus disc with four extra tracks as well as a 28-page book featuring photos by Anton Corbijn. "Heaven" will be released on disc with remixes from Matthew Dear (as Matthew Dear vs. Audion), Blawan, Owlle, and Steps to Heaven.

Delta Machine was produced by Ben Hillier and mixed by Flood.

In a press release, Martin Gore said, "Writing this album was incredibly daunting as I wanted the sound of this collection to be very modern. I want people to feel good about listening to this record, to get some kind of peace. It's just got something magical about it." Dave Gahan said, "With this release we've completely shifted our idea of how to create an album. When we hit a wall where we realize the album is beginning to sound too normal, we'll mess it up and really give it that organic Depeche Mode Sound. Delta Machine is no different, and I can’t wait for all of our fans to hear it."

Previously, Gore said, "The music has a similar vibe to [1990's] Violator and [1993's] Songs of Faith and Devotion and I think the songs on the album are among some of the very best we've done," while Gahan said it's "not a blues record, but it definitely has a soulful vibe."

Depeche Mode will hit the road in Europe this spring, with North American dates to be announced. Dates below.

Delta Machine:

01 Welcome to My World
02 Angel
03 Heaven
04 Secret to the End
05 My Little Universe
06 Slow
07 Broken
08 The Child Inside
09 Soft Touch/Raw Nerve
10 Should Be Higher
11 Alone
12 Soothe My Soul
13 Goodbye

Bonus disc:

01 Long Time Lie
02 Happens All the Time
03 Always
04 All That's Mine

One of my drumsets is on display at the NAMM show all weekend over at the Paiste Cymbals booth. I'll also be signing there at 1pm on Saturday alongside old friends and fav drummers Vinnie Colaiuta, Abe Laboriel Jr and Danny Carey. Come say hi and bring cash!

If you're going to be @ NAMM looks like DC will be there.

Apparently Dean Ween and Les Claypool are teaming up for some reality fishing show:

According to NJ.com, Deaner (real name Mickey Melchiondo) will be shooting a pilot for a ‘quirky’ show that will mix his love of fishing with music and comedy. The show will feature Melchiondo and Claypool as they head out each week and fish in exotic locations with a special celebrity guest.

The show will be produced by South Park masterminds Matt Parker and Trey Stone and Melchiondo shares that the goal is to get the program on after Anthony Bourdain: No Reservationsor Tosh .O. The former Ween guitarist claims that the show is “…a fishing show that you do not have to be into fishing to enjoy.” The plan is for him and Claypool to create the soundtrack for the show as well.

No word as to when this show will actually make it on the air, but we will keep you updated. In the event you want to catch Les Claypool in the not so distant future, he will tour the west coast with his Duo De Twang outfit later this year. If you would like to go fishing with Dean Ween later this year, he is once again taking reservations for later this year.

If Matt and Trey weren't producing, I probably wouldn't care.  That's the only thing that makes me think this is going to be more than just a fishing show.  Claypool's weird, but I could buy that he could do some ordinary fishing show.  I don't buy that Matt and Trey would produce an ordinary fishing show.
