Aw man this new Mr Bungle album is just boomers revisiting their youth

Hmmm, maybe that's a statement on all bands that reunite after a long hiatus

The album was ok, more or less what was promised, but I mostly find the music uninteresting. It's not the Mr Bungle we know and love, nor was it ever expected to be. As far as thrash albums go, it's not particularly great or innovative, but listening to Patton in front of a metal band is kinda fun regardless.

The Eric Andre interview was interesting though, and I hear the webcast show was great, so keen to check that out.

That haircut tho

I'll just listen to D.R.I's 'Crossover' instead - and pretend this whole ugly reboot never happened.

From Tomahawk's new album, Tonic Immobility, in stores March 26th 2021

Pre-order now:
https://lnk.to/TomahawkTonic

Duane Denison (The Jesus Lizard/Unsemble), Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle/Fantômas), Mike Patton (Faith No More/Mr. Bungle, etc.) and John Stanier (Helmet/Battles), return with their first full-length album in 8 years.

“Tonic Immobility could just be something in the air we’re feeling,” says Denison. “It’s been a rough year between the pandemic and everything else. A lot of people feel somewhat powerless and stuck as they’re not able to make a move without second guessing themselves or worrying about the outcomes. For as much as the record possibly reflects that, it’s also an escape from the realities of the world. We’re not wallowing in negativity or getting political. For me, rock has always been an alternate reality to everything else. I feel like this is yet another example.”

Pre-orders are available now, with the album available in the following formats: digital, CD digipak, and 180 gram LP in textured gatefold packaging. Vinyl variants include standard black, coke bottle clear (indie retail exclusive – 5000 available), opaque metallic silver (Ipecac webstore exclusive – 2000 available), and crystal clear (Newbury Comics exclusive – 1000 available).

Tonic Immobility track list

1. SHHH!
2. Valentine Shine
3. Predators and Scavengers
4. Doomsday Fatigue
5. Business Casual
6. Tattoo Zero
7. Fatback
8. Howlie
9. Eureka
10. Sidewinder
11. Recoil
12. Dog Eat Dog

I've had motions that were better than that track.

It sounds like Tomahawk 101, which I'm generally cool with. I hope this is a better album than their last.

i guess. y'know how that goes though, even if they pulled it off and made it pretty ok the first ones got all the charm. the costumes look awesome the way they were too. i almost want to watch it again, like real soon! fun times!
