2014 New Albums

This thread is for new albums that may make your 'best of 2014' list that have been/are being released in 2014. It's to keep an updated list of new releases so I don't have to try to listen to 100 albums at the end of the year to find the 'best of 2014'.

Thank you for your contributions.

sure no one here cares but Beck and Arcade Fire albums are best of 2014 for me so far

Wasn't the Arcade Fire album released last year?

I haven't listened to much new music this year. The only one's I've listened to are Crosses (was ok, probably not top 10 worthy), Duo De Twang (pretty good, but again probably not top 10 worthy), Bong (pretty boring) and Against Me! (surprisingly good).

I care. Morning Phase, as a continuation from Sea Change, fits delicately back into place; almost overlapping in a greater light like sun sparkles on a subtle wind blown pond.

The new YOB when it comes out.

Same goes for OM.

Well they don't leave much to the imagination do they? Just a personal preference but I like going into a new album completely in the dark.

As do I.

Not a fan of MASTODON anyway. "LEVIATHAN" was the tits, but everything else is very forgettable.

You're correct. Cover your eyes. I can't imagine anything else in my imagination that Mastodon forgot to reveal from their imagination to leave the greater Mastodon populous imagining. Imagine that.
Should be a good album nonetheless.

Thanks!

Right on, brother! "ADVAITIC SONGS" was my album of the year. It was just so real, yet it didn't insist of itself.

Amazing album from a killer band. Al is coming close to hero status for me, and I don't believe in elevating other human beings.

Eh. Leviathan was ok but Crack The Skye is the tits! My favourite by a mile.

I'm anticipating this. But, no bones about it, Mastodon don't have what it take to rise to that next level of "awesomeness". They're good but....eh, I can live without them. Unlike you know.

But they work very, very hard and are passionate about their fans and never really fail to deliver on their ability - despite their flaws (which are few). They're no slouches. Unlike you know who.

Crack the Skye is weak.

The only "bad ass" Mastodon album is Leviathan.

The mighty Godflesh have reformed and are currently putting the final touches on a new album, tentatively titled A World Lit By Fire, to be released in May.

And when it is...

...you will know.

Cool, didn't know they were recording. Should be good.

1) I want that new YOB and I want it right now.

2) Can't wait for the new Mastodon. It's hard to argue with Crack The Skye being their peak, but they're another band (similar to Tool) where after a certain album (Leviathan in this case) I can't really pick between them. They each have too many strengths to write off. The Hunter wasn't as cohesive, but it contains some of their best music to date.

Yob, AAL, OM, Mastodon. Looking forward to another year searching for quality new music.
