"Buzz Osborne: I picked these guys (ISIS) because we played their last round of shows with them and they were better than they’d ever been. Then they decided it was time to completely break up, which is totally and completely ridiculous. After all that work, to take a band that has never been better—live or on record—and break up, that’s the reason they’re on this list. They blew it. They were better than ever, and they blew it."

THANK YOU, Buzz. Spot on, and I still can't believe that they called it quits when they did. They were anything but stagnant, and had just reached a new peak with hints of a continued amazing development in their sound.

"We have another [Melvins] album in the works as well, it's not gonna come out right on top of this, but it's right there," he says. "And that'll be a head-scratcher for people as well. I don't really wanna let too much out of the bag 'cause it's a good surprise."
Oh Goody.

This acoustic project sounds interesting. If Buzz had included SF, I would have likely gone.

Side note: is he directly bagging on Tom Morello or what? Well, Melvins have never been shy about expressing their opinion.

The album will be an ambient thing, in the tradition of LUSTMORD. Either one or four tracks for around sixty minutes.

Called it.

Buzzo acoustic makes me cum buckets. This is going to rule.

I gotta say, the idea of Buzz doing acoustic stuff is quite interesting, but the track I listened to this morning what a little underwhelming.

The performance he did for that Ernie Ball thing recently perked me up. I would totally go see this if it were closer. I can't wait to see what this new thing is, but what I really want is another album from the Melvins/Big Business line up. Might be holding my breath forever on that though.

I like it. Just wondering why he over tracked the guitar if he's planning on touring this solo?

At least I assume it's multi track guitar, I don't think Buzz is capable of pulling off the Michael Hedges shit... maybe I'm wrong.

Looking forward to checking out some vids from these performances to see how it comes off.

I'm sure it's the usual "studio is studio, live is live" thinking. He always double/triple tracks things on the album that they won't pull off live.

Agreed, but this is different in that it's just him, stripped down on a stage. With a full band, the energy is high and those additional guitar tracks can be easily forgotten. Not so in this case... or at least that's the way I see it.

@ Oldesch - I am a fairly recent convert. All it took was seeing them live years ago. Before that, I liked some of their tunes, but didn't really appreciate how great they are.

I listened to this track a couple of times and it's been stuck in my head ever since.

That was no exception.

Any quality boots from his acoustic tour? I haven't found any yet, but haven't tried too hard.
