Deleted my opinion as you all should watch the original, top ten film for me and my last post gave spoilers.

Fuck a remake.

'Edge of Tomorrow' is the best film I have seen all year. Best sci-fi movie I have seen in a while.
Pleasantly surprised.

'The Zero Theorem' on the other hand was rubbish. What happened to GIlliam lately?

Hollywood raping remaking another epic movie.

What's with Hollywood remaking a movie within a year or two of its release?

Could just not watch it I guess. Complaining on the internet is more fun though I suppose.

Would probably get a different response if some shitty band was doing an entire cover-album of TOOL songs.

I bet the pitch for "Let's Be Cops" heavily relied on it's franchise potential.

Let's Be Doctors

Let's Be Soldiers

Let's Be Auctioneers

They could go anywhere with it.

Scarface with Al Pacino is a remake.
Ocean's Eleven with George Clooney is a remake.

Aye,
always good to know such movies if people moan about remakes. Especially Scarface makes a lot of them go...

I prefer to moan about shitty movies, and not worry so much about their legacy.

The Star Wars prequels were for the most part pretty crap, but they didn't ruin my childhood or anything dumb like that.

Always exceptions... at least there were 40 and 50 years between them.
The originals were pretty good too.

Anyone who didn't like the "OCEAN'S ELEVEN" remake is a dick. Seriously, it was a cool, fun movie. You'd have to be a seriously sad person to hate on it.

Not to mention I challenge anyone to honestly say they were alive to see and appreciate the original when it first came out.

What basejumper said..

Scarface was a remake of a movie from the 40s or 50s if I recall?

That's fine - my point was why make remakes after a year or two after the original one was released?

At least give it a generation for it to breathe. Introduce the social norms of that day and you have a new movie altogether. Geez.

Sue me but I didn't think highly of Scarface at all. Never watched the original so can't compare it to - there goes my argument. :D

I couldn't believe it when they rebooted the "SPIDERMAN" franchise. What the actual fuck.

Agreed, Raimi's Spiderman 1 & 2 were actually good. But Sony (?) needed to do something with Spiderman otherwise Marvel would've got back the license.

Many people believe the batman reboot to be the greatest thing ever. And while I agree the older movies got sloppy I still think Tim Burton made the best Batman movies.

Sorry but they don't have anything on the original rat pack, nothing. I don't hate it but to say it stands head to head with the original is delusional.

As to the reboot of Spiderman, it make perfect sense that Sony wants to hold onto the rights, why they just didn't do a Turkish spiderman spoof I'll never know, probably would have made them more money.

Also the first Spiderman is terrible, Green goblin looks straight up Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

No, it is not terrible. The costume could indeed be better. But movie wise it is pretty good. imo.

I remembered when they announced the Spider-Man reboot. At the time Sam Raimi was still planning on making a fourth Spider-Man movie.

So they announced they were going to do one more sequel and then a reboot. It kinda made my head spin.
