Alternates I could at any moment swap out for the latter half of my list:

O Brother Where Art Thou, Pulp Fiction, Heat, The Big Lebowski, The Shining, Any Goddamn Stanley Kubrick Film Really, Apocalypse Now, The Conversation, Planes Trains and Automobiles.

Also, Last Action Hero is legitimately amazing and totally underrated. One of the great Arnold movies.

For a moment I thought this was the Yob thread and that this was your list of contenders for album of the year.

Some of mine.

A History Of Violence
A Clockwork Orange
Blade Runner
A Serious Man
Dr. Strangelove
American Psycho
Crank II
Drive
The Man Who Wasn't There
Evil Dead II

I could maybe throw Mulholland Drive or Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me on there, but I feel like I would need to watch those movies again before I could make that decision. The Matrix movies (all of them) could probably go on there as well. I know most people aren't fans of the sequels, but I love them. I forgot Akira as well but that could totally go on there as well.

Terrible idea for a thread. SO fucking hard. Much harder than albums.

No order whatsoever.

"WAKING LIFE"
"THE FOUNTAIN"
"THE CROW"
"BEGOTTEN" (Possibly the best film of all time, objectively).
"THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT" (If you disliked this movie because you don't like shaky cameras or too much tension, creativity, and stark psychological horror - there's a solid chance you are directly responsible for what's wrong with cinema as an artistic medium).
"ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND"
"CHASING AMY"
"LOST HIGHWAY"
"OFFICE SPACE"
[PLACE-HOLDER FOR EVERY AMAZING FILM I CAN'T RECALL RIGHT NOW WHICH I LOVE]

The first four or so were simple. After that, it was a struggle.

I was never allowed to watch TV or see movies until I was in foster-care, so I'm STILL catching up with the classics. Kubrick's astounding art springs to mind for my position ten just there. "EYES WIDE SHUT" is a fucking breath-taking piece of art; more so if you believe the "fringe" theories about it. His earlier work is equally astounding. "A CLOCKWORK ORANGE" was on my list for a long time. As was ". . . STRANGELOVE . . ." Bogart and the true classics are still something I'm getting through. It's tough, you know. I often worry that I'll die before being able to truly experience the best attainable art that history has to offer - let alone future creations.

Good company in this forum. We're all pretty varied, but we all tend to have great taste in film and music.

Kudos, friends.

PS: "HELLBOY 2" if only for that moment where The Red Right Hand kills the plant-faerie, only for it to sprout life and beauty all over the shitty city block.

I watched this at a mates house stoned. Him and he's idiot brother kept insisting it's too real not to be real, I didn't argue because I was stoned. Then I had to walk home after, basically 5 minutes through scrub, 10 minutes street, 10 minutes deep bush land then 15 minute street. Oh this was around 23:00.

Thank fuck it was a full moon, not that I was spooked, but still.

Me and my mate got chased home after it in his car. We tried for ages to lose these fuckheads, and eventually we did.

I slept with the lights on in my apartment until I moved to Newcastle for university a year later.

You faggot

My point was I wasn't spooked by it at all.

The first time I saw August Underground though I was like, is this real? This isn't real? Is it?

Then posted links everywhere telling people to watch.

I stopped halfway through the second. Not because I was weirded out or offended or whatever - but because I realised that I'd got to a point where I didn't need to watch that kind of movie anymore.

I mean, if I think about the last woman I raped hard enough, I can get erect in literally hours.

Yeah it as the second I was talking about, I always forget to mention which one because I forget it's a series of that sick shit.

I find it difficult to see that series as having artistic merit.

I mean, yeah, for being made, I guess it does automatically. And yeah, his portrayal of how seriously vile human beings are was exactly what he wanted.

I don't know; I guess I'm just trying to say that I didn't like it.

Weird. I used to collect horror movies. I thought "A SERBIAN FILM" was boring and missed its own point, to become a caricature of itself. Which is kind of admirable and rare, in a way.

That fucking film, the fact the sound engineer put in a tearing sound as he put it into his kid, yeah, too edgy for me.

Sweet. One of no people anywhere online that agree when I say it was a caricature of itself. And it was a fucking movie.

How is that possible? Do you make its intro/first act so incredibly tongue in cheek, yet horribly wanting that the last two acts are a fucking laugh?

Fuck. Now I really don't want you to watch "BEGOTTEN". Pro-tip: It's on YouTube, and it's long.

Just nod your head and walk away hen it comes to Jay.

I liked all the movies you posted, while none would make my top ten.

Totally fair enough. Though if you have the right to post a list, others should have the right to post their opinion.

And my response to someone raggin' on my list would be the exact same as what you just gave us, for what it's worth. :P

LOL, only apologise ever in life if you've been a fucking cunt and you realise it and you make the effort to own that mistake.

Otherwise, have a laugh and give everyone the finger. Or try to finger them, if they are women and look like they have attractive poonanis.
