sports are competition pure and simple. I enjoy two individuals putting it all out there, everything on the line, in front of millions of people to see who's better. it's violent at first glance but it is a chess match, can't lose sight of that. it's not a street fight. you have world class Olympian wrestlers going toe to toe with a jujitsu black-belts. champion muay thai boxers fighting someone who studied Judo and Taekwondo their whole life. most of them the poorest people from places like Russia, China, Africa, Canada & Japan. given a shot to compete and add some excitement to a world of sports that seems more about the commercial break than discipline, knowledge and commitment.

EDIT: Moggers - LeBrawn definitely stepped up his game and added that mid range jumper big time.  Haters gonna hate, but he showed up in a big way.  So did Wade and Bosh (to a lesser extent).  That's was about as good as it gets for a 7 game series.

Word man fucking GREAT series.  Absolutely superb performance by LeBron.  Battier finally found his shot as well and had a huge night.  Spurs handled it with so much class.  Much respect for Pop, Duncan and Parker.

You're all about those regular seasons, I'm all about playing for titles, even if I don't win every time.  You cannot win if you're not in the game; so you took 2 of 3.  It happens, even to a team like the Tigers whom are, you have to admit, are a better all-around team than the Orioles.  Mind you, not by much but, the edge goes to us because of starters; but you know this.

 

And I hope you thanked Mr. Peralta for that 2-run, 2-strike count, walk-off home run last night.  Gave your O's a half-game for nothin'.

 

And I love victory...it just tastes so fucking GOOD!  God DAMN!  MMM...

I was very excited about Detroit taking that game last night, even it it cost me a Lackey win in fantasy baseball.  God Andrew Bailey is almost as bad as Valverde.

O's went 4-2 against the Tigers this year and even roughed up Verlander.  Once they add an arm or 2 (most likely at the trade deadline) than the O's will the edge.  What doesn't help is the Tigers get to beat up on mediocre AL Central teams while the AL East is stacked.

Oh, and officially my name is just Mark, but thanks to a buddy in college Markus really took off.

Baseball is, by far, the gayest game in the world.

The Young Socceroos secured a fairly solid draw against Colombia. I was extremely happy with our level of skill, and am looking forward to seeing the national team in another four years. Should be full of Jets, by the looks of things.

The U20 World Cup is on right now, and seeing how that that's pretty much the future, I consider it to be just as important as the World Cup to be held next year.

It was a joke, but not mine.  The fucker actually said it.  The feed I was watching was with two Brits, and they were going on and on about how the other teams record was so shitty and what a disgrace, etc... then one of them pulled out that Gangnam nugget.  I couldn't believe it.

@ Markus - No, Baseball is one of the most boring "sports" imaginable, and has always been.  And Cheese - going to a game is infinitely worse than watching it on TV, only because when you click the remote OFF button, the game is still in front of you.
