Sounds like a recommendation for UKEgamebounty wrote: ↑Thu Jan 17, 2019 7:35 pm The new Dragon Ball movie was wildfire. It had plenty of flaws, but the tension build up was god tier. They made some interesting choices with the music too that are kind of divisive, but I thought it was awesome. Surreal even. Go see this movie.

I'm not really into that style of Anime. Don't really care for the humor tbh, or the constant stalling, or the pulling the football style of storytelling where Goku becomes the most powerful person in the universe at the end of each story only to be not powerful enough for the next guy.

Re: What are you watching? Film/TV
I decided to watch Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within because I fascinated by it as a kid but only saw it once and didn't really get it. I appreciate how bizarre the main plot though I wish it was less new-agey and told in a less generic way...
It really bugged me how much Alex Baldwin's character looked like Ben Affleck. It was really jarring hearing Alex Baldwin's voice who looks like 28. I liked Steve Buscemi's character alright, probably the best part. Otherwise not very good, though not outright terrible, largely boring.

I feel ya. Dragon Ball is formulaic. I just happen to like the formula and characters very much.UndKeineZwEier wrote: ↑Thu Jan 17, 2019 8:33 pm I'm not really into that style of Anime. Just finished up with The Man in the High Castle. Absolutely superb adaptation of Philip K. Dick's novel. If you have Amazon Prime I highly recommend this. Three seasons so far I cannot say enough good things about this series.
Finishing up the Punisher season 2 and it has been a let down. Season 1 was light years ahead of this. The only reason I am even still watching it is because Jon Bernthal is amazing as Frank Castle. His performance alone makes it worth watching season 2.

Didn't enjoy Man in the High Castle but amazon prime is great, Bosch is one of the best cop shows currently airing.

I haven't checked out Bosch yet. I just finished up Homecoming and it was actually pretty good. Julia Roberts was excellent. The pacing and plot development were really good and the way the series was shot was interesting.
I started watching Black Sails. Was a Starz series that ran for four seasons that I never got around to watching. The whole pirate thing typically doesn't do much for me but the series had a hell of a lot of good reviews so I have been giving it a go and I am pleasantly surprised.
I am annoyed that Star Trek Discovery season 2 isn't available for purchase by episode. It will end up on ITunes after the season is over, but clearly CBS wants people on their All Access service and fuck that I have enough subscriptions already.

Overlord is on my list looking forward to watching it.
I started watching The Magicians and now I can’t stop. The books were fantastic, the show however did not look appealing at first but man they got the casting perfect.

Yeah I posted about The Magicians before, I thought it was going to be about actual Magicians not some YA garbage but I can't stop watching.
Although a lot of that is because of Olivia Dudley's stunning performance.

Same I knew the books were good but when I first saw the casting and watched one episode I thought it was some Millennial shit and that they were gonna butcher it like MTV did The Shannara Chronicles but this has been outstanding. I think Elliott and Margot (Hale Appleman and Summer Bishill) are my favorites those two play off each other so well. Dudley has been great as Alice. The entire cast is solid.

I finished up Ozark on Netflix and holy shit it was good. If you haven't watched this yet check it out. Jason Bateman is fantastic.
I also recently finished up Bodyguard which is a BBC original that is now a Netflix original and it was also outstanding. Stars Richard Madden from Game of Thrones fame as a cop assigned to protect the Home Secretary. Highly recommend this one.
Also The Man in the High Castle Season 4 teaser is out. New season is out in the fall.

Ok. But...Well, there's not really much in the way of competition now, is there?

Ozark is great, anyone who hasn't watched it probably should.

Leaving Neverland - Why would they lie? He did it. Sorry Matt, you were right. 4 hours of hearing one of the greatest pop artists of our time painted as the monster as he was.

Free Solo. Even though it's a documentary is still the best movie I have seen in as long as I can remember. Fucking amazing!
