Pretty good price for Aussie Tool fans wanting the Book version of FI ($46.90):

This is probably the cheapest I've seen new Lateralus vinyl in quite some time too:

Bethlehem Abortion Clinic - that's what I want, a solo album by Danny Carey, playing on the spoons in 32/8.

Hmmm, speaking of songs preferred over other songs (Third Eye v 7empest is tough for me), I asked my dad the other day about picking his 5 albums for the crazy hypothetical situation of "Imagine you're trapped in solitude for the rest of your life and you're only allowed to listen to 5 albums for the next ___ years" etc. No greatest hits allowed, no 'compilations' of any kind, just straight up solid albums. His choices were:

Dark Side of the Moon - PINK FLOYD
IV - LED ZEPPELIN
Deep Purple in Rock - DEEP PURPLE
The Wall - PINK FLOYD
Abbey Road - THE BEATLES

So I'm wondering what you guys think. We've just been in yet another 'lockdown' here in Sydney/Australia so I'm wondering what you guys would choose... Either that or pick just ONE Tool album you'd take with you (I might have to go with Aenima).

Well, while you're in the self-sabotaging act, what music would you listen to one final time? And you've only got time for maybe ONE song or one album...??

Sorry man, but I didn't allow greatest hits or compilations of any kind... otherwise my dad goes with Remasters and it's a wrap. :(

But Soul to Squeeze, Under the Bridge, Californication, Parallel Universe are all nice! Why isn't Can't Stop on that greatest hits?

Fuck yeah ms2r! Fear inoculum would be one of my choices, but you mentioned the Fragile. When that album came out, I listened to it straight for more than a year. This album is so fucking amazing! I was able to see this tour live with APC opening up for NIN. Great fucking concert!

The Verve - Forth
Foo Fighters - Colour and the shape
Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger
The Police - Zenyatta Mondatta
Tool - Lateralus

in no particular order ;)

Nice work!

And Bobby: seeing APC open for NIN around this time (1999/2000) would have been fantastic! I'm very jealous.

Last time I saw NIN live they played Somewhat Damaged midway through their set but then started their encore with The Frail and The Wretched and everyone went justifiably nuts...

It was just one of those classic concert moments where you get pins & needles, adrenaline etc. Kinda like TOOL pulling out You Lied and Right In Two here back in 2011, or opening with Flood and including H. in their set back in 2002.

Awesome Mattw!

It really was a great show! I think this is around the time Maynard and Trent were working on the project "tapeworm", but that went south for some reason.

I saw "you lied" in Vegas in 1998, but I am more jealous of you seeing H live. As I've stated before, H is a song I have never seen live (after 17 shows) and I wish I could see it live. Maybe someday.

Merch, merch and more Merch… it’s disappointing that’s all they ever seem to offer. Missed opportunities.

25th Lateralus anniversary swag is underwhelming.

Although, if they re-released a version of this shirt I'd buy it.

The question is: do the tool band members have a favourite blanket or pillow from their merch?

To be honest, I did just by one of these hoodies... LATERALUS EYE FLAME BLACK CAMO HOODIE

I've got another FI hoodie from the 2019/2020 tour & it's actually incredibly warm, comfy, lightweight etc.

Maybe you could ask them if they ever do a VIP session again.

The VIP price keeps increasing and the experience decreasing, next thing you know you'll get seats in the bleachers with a pretaped video of the band thanking you for your support and if you have a problem with that wipe your tears with the supplied Tool serviette.
