- You like noisy music?
- Yes. The louder the better. Stops me from thinking.
- You don't like to think? What do you like?
- Never thought about it.

I was disappointed to see there's not a whole lot of US touring on their schedule through the fall. Do they always do that? Or can I reasonably expect further touring?

Heard the new album, I thought it was ok. To be fair I've never really liked them so I was pleasantly surprised to even think that. Easily my favorite album of theirs, so that's something, right?

6/10

She probably didn't realize that posting an opinion about a member of QOTSA was forbidden in the QOTSA thread.

I must have missed the part where I told her not to post?

I asked a couple of questions because the post seemed really random. She's under no obligation to respond. Sorry that ruffled your jimmies.

I kind of miss the hard hits from Era Vulgaris, but I like how this is the their most progressive album and it ties so well to the self-titled. Bloody horrorshow, Mr. Homme!

Haahaa!  Sorry bro, my mistake for not seeing that those comprehensive questions you prosed were motivated purely on genuine curiosity.  Hopefully they reply to them and put your mind at ease.

On the one hand that's awesome because these are all places that don't typically get big tours. On the other... goddamnit I ain't traveling to any of these backwater burgs!

Good for them.  My opinion on this album has changes somewhat after my initial reviews - it's definitely my favorite album of 2013 so far.  Its rating in the ranks of QOTSA albums hasn't changed though - it's still not as good as the first three, but much better than the last two.  I'd probably give it an 8/10.

Definitely my favorite album this year. Wouldn't be surprised to see it top my end of year list as well. The only albums I can see beating it are Palms or Tool's new album if it comes out this year, but I don't see either of those happening.

Also the new Nine Inch Nails (though I kinda doubt it) or Mastodon if they release their next album this year.

Mastodon said yesterday they wouldn't hit the studio until September at the earliest, so there won't be an album from them this year.

I'm not expecting the Palms or NIN albums to be better than Like Clockwork, though am quite happy to be surprised.

Pretty much my feelings exactly, but those are the only albums with the potential to do so. Though to be honest there really aren't that many albums I know of coming out later this year.

Oh yeah, and the Puscifer remix album, can't forget about that one.

I haven't really been keeping much of an eye on who is releasing what this year, but off the top of my head I can't think of many releases the rest of this year I'm really looking forward to.

No doubt there will be some surprises though - I do try and listen to a range of new albums, and to be honest the 8/10 I gave Like Clockwork indicates (to me at least) there's plenty of scope for another band to release a better album.  Won't be TesseracT though - couldn't get through 3 songs when listening to that album this morning.
