I highly doubt that's the case. Yes they are taking their time but who gives a fuck? It'll come when it comes. As artists, honestly do you really believe Adam is finished with his baby tool? Do you really think the beast aka Danny is finished ripping up atleast one more Tool album? Justin is in his prime, younger than the rest, he has plenty in the tank. Stop being so negative be patient bro, the time will come when it comes.N.Y.H.C. wrote:so come out and say that's it, the band is done. don't keep doing mini tours and re-releasing 20 year old albums. that just enforces the cash grab theory. pack it in, put a statement out, give your fans some closure. if that's the case.

Twenty minutes of music per year!
<chuckles>
Oh yeah, this band is definitely still going strong. Lots of ideas spewing forth in the ol' Tool camp these days.
Pfft.
Oh well, as even Mog said in the NIN thread, there are plenty of interesting and acclaimed musicians out there who still take their profession seriously.

Re: The Grudge
Can you do me a favor a go nominate Kayo Dot's latest album in the Bandcamp thread? Hellboi is being a dick because only three songs are available for preview on Bandcamp. Meaning god forbid he would have to buy the album to listen to the rest of it. Wait, no, I imagine he will just pirate it. Anyway a second would be much appreciated. I will hit you back on an album later.Calfium Jay wrote:Twenty minutes of music per year!

Re: The Grudge
Pirating is soooo fun. I remember when I was a young chap wanting to be a pirate when I "growed" up. Now look at me, rockin' to pirated music.
Back on topic, why the fuck isn't the Tool album out yet? I decided to be patient 5 years ago when they said they were writing new tunes. Ah well, plenty of music out there.
Carry on.

be realistic, "taking their time" was about 4-5 years. 9 years is like 2 jobs and 3 girlfriends ago broBlackHole83 wrote:I highly doubt that's the case. Exactly. "Taking their time" = 5 years between albums. Reznor "took his time" with The Fragile and (within that time frame) managed to create a serious artistic statement, manage Marilyn Manson and produce Antichrist Superstar AND deal with his own personal demons (ie relationship break up and drug abuse).
In nearly twice that time, Tool have managed to write a bunch of unconnected riffs with NO lyrics and.....fuck all else.
Oh wait, no they've been holidaying quite a bit. Good for them.

9 1/2 years between albums = they either can't be fucked or they have used up every single iota of creativity within in order to get this far. (IE they're good for only 3 or 4 albums).

Re: The Grudge
Unfortunately the new riffs melt brains and Tool have to get them approved by usda, they are that organic.

Re: The Grudge
This band is so lazy.
At least Metallica made a movie.
Tool couldn't even assemble 90 minutes of live footage and release in it on a dvd.
Sucks to them.

Yes but a lot of their fans liked that shit. All of the things you mentioned were successful financially.
I'd rather a Tool album I was iffy on than.........NOTHING.

I'd rather a regular slew of EPs over the years. That'd make everyone happy.
O love will you read the letters I will send to you.

Yeah that's why they released Death Magnatic, the biggest piece of pandering the metal scene has ever seen.Calfium Jay wrote:^

Hey guys, we can still do 80's!
If Tool, aka Adam doesn't think the music is good enough, it isn't, as Maymay said, Adam is the biggest narcissist he's ever met.
Let them wait 20 years, I don't give a fuck.
