Truly stunning performance by Chelsea Wolfe & band at The Regent Theater in DTLA tonight. The tracks off of Abyss are just as ethereally heavy played live, and Dylan Fujioka is stellar on the drums.

Wovenhand set a great tone for the night as opening band too.

Definitely recommend this show if you get a chance.

Nice, Norm. Glad you had a good show.

Lettuce was super funky last night and they played for hours.

Cornell solo was excellent. He is undoubtedly one of the best voices in rock, and he was on. So glad it wasn't with the band he put together, this was so much better. Just him with an array of acoustics and on some songs he had a cellist (who also played it like a bass to great affect).

he's one of the few artists who's voice pre-heroin and post-heroin both sound fantastic.

I'd like to see Surfjan I think. Definitely interested in Godspeed You Black Emperor.

Seeing the Chris Cornell acoustic set again in December Kittann. Never get tired of those pipes and his acoustic work would be the way I prefer to see him currently.

Now Pete I just got tickets for Shellac on the Thursday night, so get your pal Blender, and your better halves, into gear for that night. We plan on bringing young Hellboy with us so your supervisory help that evening would be appreciated.

Been keen to see these guys for a while now, and every time they tour I seem to be unavailable. Being a Friday night, I'm probably not available this time around either, but will certainly consider it:

Between the Buried and Me are an incredible live band, simply put. They’re both astonishingly tight and full of energy at the same time. Plus the latest album is fantastic which is a nice bonus. So, this tour is exciting;

Not so interested in GSYBE, but will almost certainly go to the SUNN O))) and MAGMA. For GSYBE fans it may be worth noting that they're playing a second show at the festival, creating the soundtrack for some performance. I'd like to go to one of the Unsound shows as well, but budget permitting. Also planning on taking the family to the fireworks thingy at Adelaide Oval.

I somewhat agree. Having heard the album after seeing some of the songs live for the first time, I think he might have had better results just keeping it simple. I liked everything he did live and stripped down. Amazing voice.

The show I saw a couple of years ago was just him and an acoustic and I'm hoping and expecting it to be similar. It was the tour that produced the songbook album which I have now listened to many times.

I haven't heard his latest solo effort and with those reviews I shall wait until after this next performance.

I was going to say it's a school night but then I remembered the holidays. I'm still playing catch up on life at the moment so I'll pass. I'm quite keen for Between The Buried And Me though. I saw them last time around and really got into them. You are going to have to do something about that Friday night time slot...

Saw Failure at The Regent in DTLA last night. Truly great show.

The songs from The Heart is a Monster really shine when played live, but it was definitely the Fantastic Planet era tunes that made the show so incredible.

Edit: The Epic Setlist (The only song I wish they would have added was The Focus)
