Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
The new Tool album is so revolutionary the only way to play it is with an autonomous vehicle.

Tool must be waiting on alien transmissions from Sirius before they can complete their magnum opus. Perhaps they have been trying to develop technology that will channel the transmission through vintage synthesizers.

What did he say about Blair?azbay wrote:Haha, yeah reverted back to metal to take out the rage that a new Tool album hasn't come outhellboy wrote:Alright, now I know who voted for Slipknot in the best album of 2014 poll.azbay wrote:Have Knotfest I'm camping for
At the VIP I went to was tailored to about the same as to the one that was recorded. So more or less any deviations from what Adam was talking about was from questions from the audience. I asked him how the other members felt about the VIP and if they would possibly atttend future VIP meets. He answered by not answering but told a story haha. He went on about a time going to a meet and greet (or someone he knew? don't remember) and the band coming in, clearly annoyed doing the photo ops and signings then leaving all in a matter of minutes. He wanted to do this for the fans to really get something out of it, make it more intimate ect.... and goes on a bit how he wanted this experience different, but never mentioned anything about the other guys. I also asked our tour guide (who worked with Deftones before Tool) if Maynard would ever do Passenger with Deftones and he assured me that it is less likely to ever happen. So who knows? problem 8 was asked about and Adam said he didn't know what he (the audience) was talking about, then went on a short story about Blair. That was kinda the gist of itblacksabbath wrote:What did he talk about?
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
^something to the effect that when he first met him he thought he was kind of an asshole. But after getting to know him he really is just a cool guy. And that Blair is Blair and sometimes he even goes over his (Adam) head with some of his stuff, and that he's also pretty versed on his knowledge on things. "Problem 8? I don't know what that is? Or what he's referring to with that? " ...something like that of course I'm paraphrasing

Random Tool Social Media thread
Like, Blair is a free agent? He posts some stuff for the band, but goes off on whatever he feels like most of the time?
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
My understanding is that he is given license to post whatever he wants for the most part, the only limitations he really has related mostly to Tool.blacksabbath wrote:Like, Blair is a free agent? He posts some stuff for the band, but goes off on whatever he feels like most of the time?

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Ok. That's what I thought.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
From Blair regarding the VIP session:
Commence lengthy sighs right now!Okay, if I can get some of you to gather around me for a minute... Closer... Okay. Realizing that those fans who are interested in the TOOL VIP EVENT are hoping that I might 'whisper' a few more of the "surprises" in store for those who attend, one thing that I did overhear a couple of days ago is that JUSTIN ROBERTS of WWE fame will be the event moderator. Hopefully I won't be guillotined, with my lopped off head plopping inside a bucket of Tabasco sauce for revealing this, but I thought some of you might like to know... Not sure if I'll be able to pry away anymore items of interest regarding the event, but you should check back just in case I'm feeling... daring.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
From what little I know of that guy he seems like a good dude but even the most hardcore of WWE fans wouldn't get too excited about him.
He was just a ring announcer, come on.

Maynard just had his hip replaced. He probably won't wrestle anyone.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Record it for me, cause that would be fucking hilarious.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
A rehearsal seems to have been added to the VIP experience.
That's pretty neat.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Wow quick draw. Beat me to it. Sounds neat indeed though
also, Avatar!
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
I hope someone records it somehow.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
In all honesty, I would cut off my left nut to watch these fuckers rehearse... I love / am obsessed with the technical aspect of musicianship and I dare say this would be a rare insight in to how TOOL go about their shit... or i t could be just a mini gig for $500....
Be good to each other.

Yes, that pretty much changes everything.Ravenpig wrote:A rehearsal seems to have been added to the VIP experience.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
That article's like two years late to the "bitch about $500 vip tickets" party.
As I've always said, I don't get complaining about the price of something. It's too much, I agree. But I'm not gonna give anyone shit for going. Go and have fun who gives a shit it's your money.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Went last time and bought 2 tickets! Would be willing to go again (by myself this time)but just don't have the funds, also when I did the vip there was maybe like 50 people, looks like this time they have sold at least 140 tickets. My guess is that they will have seats for attendees in the standing area of the venue, Adam comes in and talks and then the other "members" filter in as well, then they head to the stage continuing the session until they do the "rehearsal" for everyone. Hope someone here goes so they can report back the experience, even though pricey should still be a good time
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
I didn't check right when they first went on sale, but later that same day there were still 410 tickets available. Now less than 50 apparently.azbay wrote:...also when I did the vip there was maybe like 50 people, looks like this time they have sold at least 140 tickets.
So Long, and Thanks for All the Tool.
