I've only seen up to episode 4 and it's good so far despite the fact that I don't really like Ritter. I don't know what it is about but I just don't like her.hellboy wrote:I watched EP1 the other day, and it seemed ok.Ravenpig wrote:Did you watch Jessica "not Adam's sister" Jones?

I don't believe Tenant even gets on screen until episode 5, then it slows down slightly, gets more psychological for 6 through 10. then 11 through 13 are very very good.Ravenpig wrote:I've only seen up to episode 4 and it's good so far despite the fact that I don't really like Ritter. ^Along similar lines, I'd never seen "Big Trouble In Little China" straight through from beginning to end until this past summer.
The film is obviously dated in some aspects, but it's still great particularly because of Kurt Russel's character.
I now wish there'd been a series of movies about trouble that Jack Burton found himself in: an alien invasion, a zombie apocalypse, vampire coven, werewolf pack, whatever.
To watch him have to deal with a series of escalating catastrophic events could have been fun. So it goes...

I watched Under The Skin and Only God Forgives tonight. Under The Skin was good; Only God Forgives was not good.

Finished watching Jessica Jones on Netflix this arvo. While I was skeptical after viewing the trailer before release, I thoroughly enjoyed the show, and would put it on par with Daredevil.
Re: What are you watching? Film/TV
Likewise. Just finished binging it yesterday. No spoiler, but I liked the minor DD tie in. After all, all of these stories are taking place in the same city.hellboy wrote:Finished watching Jessica Jones on Netflix this arvo. One thing I can say is the main JJ villain is much more interesting to me than his DD counterpart. I found Fisk's acting to be over the top and unbelievable (long ponderous pauses and staring off into space). Quite the opposite for Kevin.
Now I'm in a showhole. :-/

Now if only a Force Awakens screener would come out, I'd be super happy!

John Wick:
Saw it for the second time. Such a great action flick. Other than video games I don't I'd seen the fighting style Wick uses before (guns + kicks/punches in the same movements). I really like that the storyline is pretty basic. The only bad part in it is that it followed the worst action movie cliche there is: the hero gets caught and for some dumb reason isn't immediately killed. The main bad guy spends the whole movie in tremendous amount of fear of Wick then doesn't kill him when he gets a chance.
Irregardless, fun flick.

Re: What are you watching? Film/TV
I just finished watching Daredevil. It was good, but I thought Daredevil did too many flips. He was always flip-flopping and it was pretty ridiculous. It reminded me of the movie Gymkata, that dude set the bar for unnecessary flips, and that's not a good thing. DD needs to cool it with the flips in season 2. #CoolItWithTheFlips

I don't remember there being any flips at all in Daredevil.

Re: What are you watching? Film/TV
He was flipping all the time. Every fight scene had multiple flips. The final episode had him doing a flip to enter an alleyway. He was standing on the street in front, he could've walked there but no he did some leaping aerial flip to get there instead.

Re: What are you watching? Film/TV
I guess I don't remember the fight scenes all that well. To be honest I enjoyed Daredevil more for the story than the action.
Anyway, I've been watching another Netflix exclusive show of late, a British Cop drama called River. Three episodes in, and I'm quite enjoying it, it's basically about a mentally unstable detective in the follow-on from the murder of his parter. The point of difference for this show is that River "sees" the dead and regularly communicates with them. Well worth a watch if you have Netflix and police drama's are your thing.

The fight scene in the hallway might be my favorite Marvel scene overall.
