I would have said the Melvins are more like Tool on crack than the other way around...

I would love that. Tracks like Triad... actually that would be a great band name for those 3 to use...

Still writing/arranging, huh?

They should have at least three records' worth of material by now.

I'm sure they do. Just not arranged, in a format they'd release as an album. But soon surely..

If all the rough mixes, dropped ideas and bits & pieces they have in the.. 'vault', never see the light of day, I think it'd be a shame. That's the meat I'm waiting to eat.

They've got 4 more weeks until the Puscifer tour (3 if you give them a week to rehearse) then MJK's busy until July...possibly the rest of the year with the wine harvest season and everything. Hopefully they can feed off those mini-tour creative vibes and get something cranked out.

Sounds pretty interesting for wine buffs and wine makers. Interesting that it goes on to say "Keenan hadn't been asked to perform during his stay, she said." but I wonder...

Probably a bit early for another tour. Best case the new album comes out in March 2017, so I'd say a summer tour of Oz/NZ is unlikely, at least in support of a new album anyway. I'd almost go with Puscifer being more likely.

February Newsletter is posted. It has a lot to do with bugs and an arrangement of a "particular song" that pushes sonic boundaries. Don't expect anything more specific than that, although Rance Q. Spartley comes up again.

And I gotta say that bug mask is pretty cool - they should sell those instead of blankets.

The new album is just a sonic boom recorded on a new format designed specifically to replicate the sound in its entirety. Everyone who hears it will have their speakers blown out. Eardrums and glass are also at risk.

we have no evidence that we will get the album in time. Well i guess the only solid evidence we have of the album is straight from one of the band members... luckily for us Tool hit the studio mid 2013 last i heard. And it should be released early 2014, correct? So lets just wait and see what happens in early 2014.... i mean... why would they lead us on with false hope? Im sure, even if its not out by 2014, they wont string us along for an additional 2 years beyond that. That would just be ridiculous.
