Random Tool Social Media thread
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
I guess that settles it then. Personally I'm a little surprised that they're not, but given how many times Tool have toured of late it's no biggie.

also goes to show, that these festivals are throwing absurd amounts of money at them for them to do 2 festivals and thats it. and there is no work for them and their crew at a festival. win win. and a mini tour for themselves is not worth it (time and $ wise) to them, at this point.

Too bad. I'm guessing APC already have some dates lined up for April-May before they go over to Europe or I'm sure they wouldn't hesitate to fire up the Tool mini-tour cash cow.

I wouldn’t say that, exactly.brewdog123 wrote:and there is no work for them and their crew at a festival..

I guess I was speaking in the grand scheme of things. I know the lights take a lot if work in any situation, maybe even especially festivals with so much vast space
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
That, and the guitar and drum techs still have to set up all the same stuff, the monitor/stage sound crew does all of theirs, sound doesn’t hang their own PA speakers (typically), but does everything else, video may or may not hang their own screens, but sets up everthing else. Conditions are usually less than ideal, and space/time has to be shared with a bunch of other bands (though headliners usually get preferential treatment).brewdog123 wrote:I guess I was speaking in the grand scheme of things. The band often don’t get a sound check and has to go into it a little off kilter.
In some ways, doing their own shows is actually easier. Everyone has their routine down and it flows better.

Would kill to hear some of the crews worst festival horror stories, but I know professionally you probably can't elaborate on most of them.junior wrote:That, and the guitar and drum techs still have to set up all the same stuff, the monitor/stage sound crew does all of theirs, sound doesn’t hang their own PA speakers (typically), but does everything else, video may or may not hang their own screens, but sets up everthing else. Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
When exactly did Tool start and end the studio recording process for 10,000 Days? (sometime late 2005 if my memory is right)
How long after the 10,000 Days recording process was complete was the album released? (released late April, right?)
Just curious about the timeline from their most recent album. I know the timeline for the new record could be dramatically different.

It's just a reference to the fact that Lorde is touring again.

She's an artist with a public profile. It's not that weird.

Yeah, not strange at all. Many people follow anyone with even a tenuous link to Tool on the lookout for snippets of info.UndKeineZwEier wrote:She's an artist with a public profile. It's not that weird.
It very very rarely happens though, and is not really worth cluttering your feed for (unless you're really keen on her artwork for example).

Which (good a time for a reminder as any) is legitimately awesome if you're into painting.hellboy wrote:(unless you're really keen on her artwork for example).
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Well thats interesting... Normally id think its just bullshit, but its from their official twitter. And Kerrang is more cedible than say Alternative Nation or someone who just jumps on any little "news about Tool and blows it up with Clickbait.ziggy23 wrote:

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Fall Out Boy is a side project for some band, but I don't know the band's name. I hope that was helpful.

Surprised you haven't heard of Fallout Boy Ziggy - they were somewhat popular (albeit with the emo kids) about a decade ago. Don't waste your time listening to them though.
Anyway, will be an interesting read, though personally I'm not expecting to hear more than Maynard talking about how he's too old and busy making wine to do big tours, etc. Hence the "evolution"
