I love Take This Bottle - it's one of my favorite tracks of KFAD.

And I think they are they greatest of 90s bands.

FNM. Such a FRUSTRATING band!!

Angel Dust was genius.

Apart from maybe.....MAYBE....a handful of tracks, KFAD was utter crud. Generic sounding 90's alt metal with some lounge / bossa nova flourishes and some gospel thrown in for good measure. Patton sounds absolutely bored stiff. Spruance left because the atmosphere was "pure poison". Roddy Bottum is more or less absent. Album opens with quite possibly the dullest Faith No More track in their lengthy history.

I got this album the DAY it came out and I was completely gutted by how downright boring and derivative it was. I ended up trading it in to some second hand cd dealership some months later.

AOTY was better - albeit only marginally. Still, way too much filler on that one. Collision and Got That Feeling are flat out embarrassing. I remember......A friend of mine was over at my place around the time it came out. We were playing videogames in my room. I put the (newly purchased) AOTY in the cd player. Collision starts up. We both sit there in stunned disbelief for about three or four minutes. Then I hit stop and put something else in.

The band were floundering by this point and clearly were confused about what sort of band they were trying to become. Completely lost in the wilderness.

Angel Dust is one of the best albums of all time. An easy 10/10 for me. KFAD and AOTYs only problems was that they were 9 and 8 out of 10. Any other band and they'd be considered great albums.

In fact one of the things I like the most about FNM is that since The Real Thing, none of their albums really sounded the same.

Faith No More?... Love them!

I don't really think I care what Patton sings cause he always does it with style. So excited to see them again next weekend.

Also dig the shit out of Take this bottle.. I'd be one of the rarer ones that prefers King for a day over Angel Dust, with this song being one of the pick of the bunch. Will be flying to Sydney to see them next week :D

Faith No More are very hit and miss with me but A Small Victory is probably my favorite tune of theirs.

I think FNM's pre-Patton albums are pretty under appreciated. Chuck is no Patton, that is for sure, but he still a very interesting an unorthodox vocalist. Introduce Yourself and We Care A Lot are both great albums:

^ Haha.. They've got some great early compositions, but I was never able to get into the albums purely coz of Chuck.. Re recorded with Patton shows the quality of songs with a decent singer..

Musically I actually liked the NWA guys better when they were solo/separated. Dr. Dre is a top notch producer (even helped Trent out on a track in The Fragile!) and The Chronic would probably make my top 100 list if such a thing existed. Ice Cube has a whole bunch of songs I like but his albums are mostly just ok. Eazy-E was annoying and had an annoying voice but he could be funny at times. I forget about the other dude.

Yea they were cool together but their music was secondary to me.

NWA seemed to go down like a lead ballon, so here's next Artist of the Day: Ministry
