Maynard agreed to do another leg of touring because he already knows that Tool won't manage to make any significant progress on the album that would require his presence.

Nah, I think it's more because they actually have an album ready.

I'm afraid the tickets will sell out fast, will do as I did with Puscifer (which was completely unecessary) and use two computers at the same time. I'll update on friday how it goes. So stoked right now! 8 months left

Awesome - hopefully that includes NZ.
Have to say - watching that Knotfest version of the package, Maynard looks more animated than I've seen for some time...really belted it out. Great to see blue and orestes were added to the set in Knoxville too.

Would be surprised if it didn't include NZ, but I'm purely speculating at this point. I don't have any basis for my claims other than a hunch.

Great show in Brooklyn last night. Love the stage setup, super creepy, great lighting. MJK was pretty talkative. Iha's bit was hilarious and Billy seemed (from NJ) to really enjoying himself. "Some of my best friends moved away from New Jersey." -MJK
► Show Spoiler
The new songs are weird AF, but very cool sounding live. I always forget how interesting the arrangements are on APC songs and what a joy it is to see them performed live. It really is beautiful art rock. Highlights = The Package, The Noose, Magdalena, Disappear, Outsider, Rose and The Doomed. McJunkins is a beast on the bass and Friedl can hold his own, but I did miss Freese on some of the fills (like in The Hollow), where you know Josh would wow you with his speed. Also, I was super impressed with the sound crew, Everything sounded great, and MJK was clear and loud and balanced with the rest of the machine. Both QOTSA and Roger Waters had sound trouble earlier this year when I saw them in NYC, so kudos to the APC crew. Lastly, I saw ~ 4 fights at the show last night. Really? Fighting at an APC show? Get a grip meatheads. Rock out.

So looks like APC are free in March. Download Aus is happening March... reasonably confident. Thoughts on that timeline Hellboy?

Yes, was my thought process behind this post:

Looks like no APC on Download (which given that Korn and Limp Bizkit are headling, is actually quite a relief). I still think it's likely APC will tour here next year though.

Yeah quite thankfully that line up has saved me having to fork out an expensive trip to Melbourne.
For a first up line up its actually not to bad for cost vs return and there are some bands on there i wouldn't mind seeing but none to force my hand of flights accomdatiom etc

I'd probably go if it were in Adelaide, but certainly not compelling enough to travel interstate. Sounds like there will be sideshows, just remains to be seen who gets what.
