Narrowly beating out

Sweaty.

This makes my heart smile. I need more Palms in my life. I loved the record but it seems so short.

@PeteyPoo - Alright dickface I finally bought this fucking album so I could listen to it in it's entirety. It has grown on me a bit. It is a frustrating album. Moments of brilliance. Other moments, sometimes within the same song, sound underdeveloped. Tropics I cannot stand. Shortwave Radio starts weak but finishes strong. Antarctic Handshake is a bit underdeveloped. Not a bad song, but it could be much better. Future Warrior, Patagonia, and Mission Sunset are all excellent songs. Took awhile for me shake off the "this isn't Isis" bias I had going into it.

Interested to see where they go with a second album. There IS something there, but they need to veer away from songs like Tropics. Fucking song sounds way to bubble gum pop. Doesn't suit Chino's vocal style at all. Speaking of Chino, he is really good on the rest of the album. As I mentioned above Aaron's drumming is excellent. Such an underrated drummer. Nothing he does is going to blow your mind but everything he does is always just right.

Chino can't sing.

like it or not, he IS one of the most well respected and sought after vocalists of current times ... so you not liking him is one thing, but stating he can't sing is an entirely different topic that is likely related to the fact that you can't hear.

@moggers: I agree ... I do like the album a lot and it does have it's shortcomings, but all in all it's a solid effort. It's not mindbogglingly groundbreaking by any means, but it has a very mellow moodiness, or the ability to create an atmoshere, that I enjoy when the timing is right

One could say that about many current pop-stars as being, [sic] "...well-respected and sought after vocalists of current times."
It doesn't mean they can sing.

The man is tone-deaf and, when he "sings," it sounds like it.

Palms has some news to announce tomorrow. So I'm bumping this thread so I won't have to go digging for it tomorrow.

I'd rather see Tool tour with Isis or Deftones than Palms.

Though I don't think that's really an unpopular opinion.

Then again Tool and Palms.

Tool

And

Palms

Palms and Tool

Palms would open for Tool

Palms

Tool

never gonna happen, my friend ... had multiple chances in recent years (BDO 2011, specifically) and it didn't happen and the tones were playing it daily

say what you must about this band but I love this song. from 5:06 on I MUST play one armed air drums while sitting in traffic. such a simple change in the song but it's hypnotic.
