I like the Hide Content from Unregistered Users option. I don't know if I'd ever use it, but I think it's a cool option.

So I just went ahead and made a new account, as I don't care about my post count or anything like that. I would like to eventually be able to drop the "83", but no biggie if I can't.

Nah HB told me to wait a few days while he tried to figure the accounts not being transferred over problem, but it seems as if my old one is lost for good. I've been lurking in the meantime.

User groups for Gold, Silver, Bronze and VIP members have been created and populated. If you feel you should be in one of these (presuming you're an up to date subscriber), and you haven't been allocated to one, then let me know and I'll fix you up.
