Don't worry - it was a false alarm. Turns out he had heard of Fear Factory.

Heard of them not sure I've heard them. Just being honest.
Wanna recommend an album of theirs?

I think "Obsolete" is a good one? The only Fear Factory song I know is their cover of "Cars."

Soul of New Machine is where it's at. Demanufacture is good though, and probably a better indication of what the band is like. Soul of a New Machine is more of a straight up death metal album.

I really liked their last one too. The Industrialist.

Ryan McCombs ex-vocalist for Drowning Pool and SOiL had a stroke and is in the hospital. Dude was only 40. Bad week for nu-metal. Who's next? Jonathan Davies?

New Lord Dying album out January 27, 2015. It's not on my "Most Anticipated 2015 Album Releases" but this snippet sounds good and I thought their first album was alright, so I'll probably check it out.
I have been tapdancing around the fucking room over this. Fucking LOVE these guys. Hilarious, and I want to hear all 3 right now haha.

Having listened to the 3(4?) tracks from the Foo Fighters album so far, I have no idea why they went to the trouble of recording in different studios. They all came out sounding pretty much the same. Maybe I missed the point. The tracks are pretty forgettable as well.

I think the different studios has to do with the TV show.

People who "grew up" with the Foo Fighters are mostly by now in their mid thirties, have two kids at private school, drive luxury SUV's and work for large corporations churning out bullshit paperwork to justify their $150k annual salaries.
So it's fitting then that Dave Schmole is making music to suit that demographic.
Yeah.....

Probably cause he wanted to, which is totally his prerogative as a well established musician which is fine by me. He seems to cherish the historic aspect of music and wants to participate in it, I suppose, and I can dig that. I would if I could just to do it. That said, I can't judge the tunes cuz I haven't listened and don't intend to.
[quote@cal: apart from hating the foos and doing a mostly useful job, not driving an suv and no private schools for my kids and a touch of an overestimate of my salary ... you're spot on about me as I'm in my mid thirties ... Who says generalities can't be accurate?

I don't think I'll bother seeing the Foos this time around. I enjoyed the last gig but I think I'm moving on.
In other news I will be in Melbourne on the 11th of December and I really want two tickets to Mark Lanegan. If this were Adelaide they would still be available, or at the very least not that hard to get hold of. Help!
Pete I presume you are going and please let me know if you hear of anyone who has over commited, be nice to catch up. The other thing I'd be keen to know is are there any reasonably reliable places to try to get ticket resells for Melbourne gigs?
