ISIS did The Bit too? I've heard Mastodon do it (even with Buzz!), but not ISIS.
Methinks I might have been off. I know MASTODON gave us a solid MELVINS cover.joeypants wrote:ISIS did The Bit too? I've heard Mastodon do it (even with Buzz!), but not ISIS.

"CROSSES". Fuck me sideways. Pathetic.
This forum makes TOOL fans look like fucking idiots at times.
Stay tuned, kids. You might just see me hit TODAY IS THE DAY.
Seriously, the shit you people listen to is appalling.
Honestly, you're a cool fucking guy, but between you, Cal, buds and NYHC, you all have appalling music taste.basejumper wrote:Get over yourself, jeezThe Boss wrote: Can't wait for you fucking losers to realise what real music looks like.

It's Helmet. So no real surprises as to what's on offer here. It's very.......1992.
All I remember of it at the time is that it gave birth to a new generation of "intelligent" metal heads who seemingly popped out of nowhere. A veritable clone army in their khaki pants, converse sneakers, baseball caps and crew cut hairstyles. Oh and they all seemed to be mad on basketball and snowboarding.
Needless to say I was not one of them.
And the music you ask? About as bland as a Saturday afternoon at Ikea.

Next reply calls the first album I listen to. Don't be a dick, it has to be a legit release.
I'd like helmet more if they ever fucking 'brought the guitars' (Sic: P. Hamilton, Melbourne, 2013) they need to play Sinatra and Biscuits for SmutThe Boss wrote:THE NEXT HELMET ALBUM, WANKHOLES.
All good, "BETTY" is treating me well.

Betty is the best choice given that Meantime was just an AOTW. If you are staying with Helmet you might as well then go to Aftertaste. If you are straying down another path after that just let me know as I can provide you with some real shitty choices as you have already pointed out that we all have poor taste in music. The Boss wrote:THE NEXT HELMET ALBUM, WANKHOLES.

Literal LOL. Right on, man. Bypassed my favourite HELMET album and went to SMOKE FAIRIES.basejumper wrote:Betty is the best choice given that Meantime was just an AOTW. no, I'm not, sadly ... the last two times I've seen them and he told the crowd to pick a song, both have been mentioned and his response was that they didn't have the right guitars with them (presuming he just meant instruments that were tuned for those tracks) ... no complaints otherwise, they sounded greatThe Boss wrote:

I saw them twice on the tour and they slayed. A beautiful, punchy, guitar sound.
Holy shit. They absolutely did not take requests at the gigs I saw. And also, they had more than the usual rack of guitars for a metal band.petemasterpete wrote:no, I'm not, sadly ... the last two times I've seen them and he told the crowd to pick a song, both have been mentioned and his response was that they didn't have the right guitars with them (presuming he just meant instruments that were tuned for those tracks) ... no complaints otherwise, they sounded greatThe Boss wrote:

I swear by MARTINA TOPLEY-BIRD. I go nuts over everything that she does. Tends to be just her (obviously), but the music is fairly rich and with texJUST SAW A SPIDER FUCK.Ravenpig wrote:Something called Purson.
Promised a chick in class I'd give her an honest review.
It's ok. Some tracks are decent and some are forgettable. It's interesting to hear a woman singing to "darker" (it's not that dark) music.
Anyone know of any decent female fronted heavier bands you could recommend? No Kittie, please. Unless it's the one from Arrested Development.
Not all female vocals but I've been digging KylesaRavenpig wrote:Something called Purson.
