Must be a difficult decision for the band, with so many factors playing into creating a set. Foremost with Tool, I imagine, is balancing the songs for first timers vs diehards who’ve seen them dozens of times. Selfishly, I want the more obscure, under represented (live) tracks to take the non-FI slots. To be fair, they have pulled out some killer tracks over the last few years. And the set list variation on the FI shows has been decent, compared to the really lean years of 10k days rehash.

Hot damn. I saw the last tool show at Nassau Coliseum on the 10,000 days tour. They played Rosetta Stoned and Wings 1&2. The feedback on Lost Keys was one of the loudest things I have ever heard. They opened with Stinkfist and closed with Aenema.
Come up and hang out with me in SF. Chase center is apparently an amazing venue. I have yet to experience a show there. But that will be addressed shortly.
Stoked that I will likely be in town for this one.

That'd be great dude! Hopefully I can make it happen. Going to need to figure it all out soon.

So Europe July/August which means they could catch some festivals. Or after June a break and they'll be in Europe starting October, after harvest season.

I think this one is more likely, which will give them more time to spend on the tour. Good times ahead for sure.

Tool will come back to the EU, but I can't see it happening until 2021. I got the impression over the weekend that we're close to seeing all the Tool dates for 2020

Says the guy who said he doubted there would be an opener for Tool on the Aus tour and they weren't going to play 7empest.
Book the Europe tour in fellas!

Did I say they wouldn't play 7empest? I certainly never thought that.

Complaining about setlists is common among all bands really. There's no such thing as a setlist that suits everyone.
I still think they should play more new stuff than "hits" (not sure I'd consider deep cuts from Opiate and Undertow hits though). I'll be disappointed if I don't get to see Fear Inoculum, Invincible, Pneuma and Descending. And 7empest too, though I have no real expectations they will play this.

Having no expectation vs claiming it won't happen is a pretty big embilishment in fairness.

Yeah I agree. I wasn't trying to say they wouldn't play it at all, just expected to be disappointed.
Thankfully I wasn't

If you read between the lines he's basically saying the band will never ever play it live.
Also embilishment?
Isn't that the new singer the kids are going crazy for?

It'd be awesome to hang out for sure, although I'm not sure I can make it happen that part of June unfortunately.
As for Baked Potato merch, the last time I checked they only had small mens t-shirts in stock. When I asked at the venue they said they weren't sure when they'd be re-stocking. I'll be sure to keep checkin' with 'em though. Hopefully getting to one Danny's upcoming shows. I'll definitely let you know.
