Autosaves?
Checkpoints?

Back on the Commedore 64 no such things existed. Play till you drop. Died? Start again!

Don't even go back that far. The Super Nintendo didn't save your game lol

Games on the C64 also weren't 10+ hours long either, so it's hardly a fair comparison.

And those games that did have lengthier game play routinely had save games anyway. It wasn't the dark ages of the Atari 2600.

Pretty sure Alex Kidd in Miracle World didn't have saves.

It is great, and if you think the amount of content in that game is great, wait until you play Arkham City. The fighting in those Batman games is pretty much the best I've played in any game.

At first I thought controlling Batman was clunky, then I realised it's exactly how it should feel to play as Batman, he's not some super fast athlete.

Finished Arkham Asylum, great fucking game but a bit too short for my tastes, yeah I'm ruined by RPG but even Sleeping Dogs I feel was twice as long.

I might go back and play it on hard, it was a bit easy, stalking armed crims was probably my fav part of the game.

Fucking bender.

Kind of annoying that I have nearly 60 hours in this play through of Fallout 3 and around a quarter of that time I've been at the level. I can see myself putting another ten hours into this game at least before I finish it up.

Length of the game didn't bother me so much. Not sure it's really a valid comparison with Sleeping Dogs. They share a somewhat similar fighting system, but other than that ones and open world game, and the other a somewhat linear action game. It's no surprise Sleeping Dogs has more content.

And you probably only paid $5 or something for it anyway.

Personally, I don't mind short games. I certainly don't think AA was short compared to the "standard" for full priced games.

And I agree, the stealth parts of the game are my favorite, which is impressive since the hand to hand combat is as good as any I've played in a game.

I think Arkham Asylum was the perfect length for the kind of game it was. I think if the game was any longer you'd start to see the limitations of the gameplay.

I agree. Once criticism I have of many games is that they are overly long.

Amen.

I'm taking a wee break because I feel like I'm constantly running out of ammo. Maybe I should start buying that shit from sellers, but I've yet to do that in a game, ever.

That, and I think I'm getting close to the end. And I hate when good things end.

Yay, yesterday my son and I (he played most of the games, I hopped along in several levels) have beaten Bowser in New Super Mario Bros Wii U. Now it is time to find all the big coins. Funnily enough we got all three at once in the last level. Great platformer.

Mario Galaxy 1 still the best Mario though, what a great game that has been.

Luigi Dark Moon has a pretty hard last level. whoa.
