It was cold outside and the autumn had started. If I recall, I believe it was Monday the 13th. I walked out of my house and went to the mailbox in hopes of getting it, I seemed hopeful and excited. and there it was, laying in the cold mailbox. I listened to the album and was disappointed. I listened to it over and over again and had a few cold beers. It started to grow on me and suddenly I loved it.

That could be the case. One thing I forgot to mention was that MOG came back to the forum and went nuts on the album, he became what he had always hated - The typical Tool fan.

haha sorry bout that... yeah ill narrow it down. how about... May 13th 2014. BTW im new to the forum, just found fourtheye on google searching for Tool news, Im a huge tool and maynard fan, i am a relatively new fan in "tool" terms lol, but i did my research and i know my shit lol. I hope to be a new piece on fourtheye, i have a few decent sources for info so ill post what i hear when i can.

Considering it takes about 7-9 months between entering the recording studio to release date, I'd say we are starting to approach the point where a 2014 release is unlikely. There has been very little news lately other than Maynard has the music now and just needs to write the lyrics. With his other projects, who knows how long that will take. Then, they would still need a month or two to jam together with Maynard to polish everything up before they can hit the studio. I think we are looking at 1Q 2015 at this point as a best case scenario.

I'm really jonesing for new material. I wish they could just release something without having to wait a whole year plus... anything... like even 5 minutes of a writing jam session. Or that hidden track (if it indeed exists).

Yep, this is pretty much correct. I can't see any further songwriting (let alone recording) happening until after the Mexican jaunt.

Although if it's any consolation, I would bet they probably forgo the whole "jam a month or two" with Maynard before entering the studio. They'll probably keep it remote right up until he steps in to record his vocals.
