One? ... the hunter was essentially a foo fighters cover album from memoryCalfium Jay wrote:So....Mastodon have gone and made a Foo Fighters record.

funny you said that. I heard a little Foo Fighters in there. well done. also a little Queens Of The Stone Age. not necessarily bad things. melodic prog metal. digging this album, it's getting better every time.Calfium Jay wrote:So....Mastodon have gone and made a Foo Fighters record.

It's not the tonal delivery so much as the general structure of the songs. That's my main gripe on the hunter; essentially every song sounded like a cover version of foo or queens, etc. Funny seeing NY mention queens now, too.joeypants wrote:Hahahaha god I wish Foo Fighters had that much balls in their music. I might actually listen.
what is your favorite Mastodon release to date?petemasterpete wrote:It's not the tonal delivery so much as the general structure of the songs. Is there anyone that doesn't think Leviathan is their best?petemasterpete wrote:

Couldn't tell you, but quite likely ... Apart from this forum, most people I know that ever bothered with them stopped listening to them after that recordhellboy wrote:Is there anyone that doesn't think Leviathan is their best?petemasterpete wrote:

Well that's a bit odd. It's not like their next few albums are terrible, or even that different. Your friends must be extremely harsh critics, or quite lazy.petemasterpete wrote: Couldn't tell you, but quite likely ... probably both ... honestly, I know a lot more people that never liked them in general and admittedly, I've never been a massive fan, mostly just thought they' were different and decent enoughhellboy wrote:Well that's a bit odd. Ugh.
What the fuck are they thinking.
