Ah, man...I'd been looking forward to checkin this one out in a week or two. All the hype had me expecting a good & fun movie.
I guess it's always better going in with lower expectations though.

I wouldn't be put off from watching though Nxrm...even though I agree with HB, its one of the better Hollywood films that you can just stick on and not think its awful. Personally, I thought it was very funny in parts!

It was funny in parts, that's for sure, but the story ultimately fell a bit flat for me. I didn't have a bad time watching it, just didn't live up to the hype for me. I find the Deadpool style humour pretty tiresome as well, so take that into account.

My favorite Seinfeld episode.

It's a damn fine one indeed. If I absolutely had to pick a favorite Seinfeld episode it would probably be "The Opposite". Seeing everything go right for George because he does the opposite of what he normally would've is freaking hilarious.

I just finished the first series of the Netflix show Happy Valley and liked it a lot. It's a British crime drama like Luther or The Fall, if you liked those shows. Personally I think it's better than both of those shows, but I'm not really sure other people would agree as much.

Deadpool was entertaining. Captain America: Civil War was more interesting & fun though.
Finally finished watching Daredevil season 2 as well. It was alright, but I enjoyed the first season more.
Also saw Anomalisa recently. Strange, to be sure. Can't really recommend it, but if you're a Charlie Kaufman fan it's worth checking out.
Finally, Mr. Robot. The first episode/pilot was great. Really worth watching that one. Unfortunately I thought the rest of the series was a bit of a mess, and felt it never lived up to that first episode.

Angie Tribeca is pretty good.
"I'm sorry Tribeca, but IA has me buy the nuts. I say "buy your own damn nuts!" but what can I do? They have me by the balls.

PARIS TEXAS
One of the greatest films of the 1980's hands down.

I just watched Green Room, the last movie to star Anton Yelchin before he died. It's a good one, pretty intense. Patrick Stewart is a Nazi, Maeby Funke is a punk guitarist.

I think 'Paris, Texas' is great, but prefer 'Wings of Desire.'
I've heard good things about 'Green Room,' although it's giving off a bit of a torture-porn vibe...not sure about it yet.
I've been consuming a lot of nonsense entertainment lately: The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, The IT Crowd, Toast of London.
Also recently watched Taika Waititi's movies 'Boy' and 'What We Do In The Shadows.' Both worth checking out.
I started watching 'Terminator: Genisys' last night and had to stop about 20 minutes in. What a mess.
Next-up: Embrace of the Serpent

Green Room is not torture porn. For one, nobody is tortured. The deaths are pretty gruesome but they happen quickly and aren't lingered on.

Ahhh, this is from the director of 'Blue Ruin' isn't it? Will definitely check it out now. Thanks!

'Embrace of the Serpent' was interesting, thought-provoking and haunting. It's not a great movie, but I'm glad I checked it out.

Wings Of Desire was too drawn out for my liking. But I s'pose the same could be said for Paris Texas. Maybe I'll give it another shot later on.....
Next-up: Embrace of the Serpent
Seeing this next week at The Nova.

I enjoyed it, for the most part, and will definitely keep an eye out for the second series when it's released.
Hopefully they fix some of the story-telling issues they had with the first series, although the fact that it's so popular makes me think otherwise.
I started watching the documentary 'I'll Sleep When I'm Dead' about Steve Aoki the other night. I know nothing about the guy and little about the EDM scene, but still found it quite interesting.

Yeah it definitely had some flaws no doubt, but the nostalgia fest worked on me. Dustins a little trooper. Can see the series taking a dive by season 3 though.

Got around to watching Captain America: Civil War over the weekend. While it was an enjoyable blockbuster, I didn't think it quite lived up to the hype it seemed to have generated with critics. I was expecting a 9 or 10 out of 10, but go something more like an 8.
A worthy follow up to Winter Soldier (though doesn't surpass it) and would probably be in the top 5 Marvel flicks.

^ I agree with that: a solid 8.
I saw it in the theater when it was first released, with no expectations...and really enjoyed it. I think I'd watch it sooner than Winter Soldier again though.

Watched 'The Witch' this weekend: a slow burning and suspenseful film. I'm not a big fan of horror, but I thought this one was perfect for the return of autumn.
