Why are all these big Koren genre mashups so long? Both that^ and The Host are like two and a half hours long.

^Yeah, I think things could have been trimmed. That 2 1/2 hours is definitely a commitment.

It's good. I didn't really have a problem with the length, but I usually don't have problems with that if the movie is paced well which this one was. I like the way it tosses you around, I had no real idea as to what was going on at the end and I enjoyed that. Not a lot of movies in this genre really can do that. I like when a movie leaves something for you to chew on.

Looks interesting I'm going to check it out. I've always liked that actress despite only really seeing her in one role.

Agreed. Might give it a second viewing. Shame it seems to have gone largely unnoticed as it's one of the best "indie" films in a while.

I watched Toad Road yesterday morning, which wasn't all that great, then I watched The Lobster last night which I did like, and Pet Sematary today, which eh...

So many movies in my watch list at the moment, and so many new movies in the coming months. Just not enough time to keep up these days.

I've been watching a ton of movies lately. Last weekend I watched 8.

I had to resort to watching TV over the weekend and watched Clear and Present Danger (which was ok but not as good as the book) and Deja Vu (a Denzel Washington "thriller" that I didn't make it to the end of)

Took my kid to see Logan last night. Sold out for hours. Tried Kong instead. Much better than anticipated. I would have waited for DVD, but it was good to see it on a bigger screen.

I saw Logan for the second time today. Geez what a dark and gloomy movie. I walked out feeling even more bummed the second time. And holy shit they finally showed on screen how violent this character is!
I'm no expert on child actors but if you say there's been a performance better than Dafnee Keen's I'd call you a liar.
This movie reminded me more of No Country for Old Men than X-Men. Great fucking flick!
Logan: 9.9/10

Dave Chappelle's first new special, The Age of Spin, was hilarious and can't wait to watch the second one. He's back and just as funny as his old specials. Haven't been able to get thru a full hour of stand from many comedians lately. Their specials have been good but just couldn't watch it all in one seating. Dave had me wanted more after alittle more than an hour.

I saw Life today, which was pretty eh. It wasn't terrible, but if you've seen Alien or similar movies, you've seen this one. It does have that annoying trait of modern sci-fi where the plot is driven by people making bad/stupid decisions, but once it gets rolling that becomes less of a problem. Overall, it's not a bad way to waste an afternoon, but there are better choices out there.
It does look good though, the budget was well spent, and the cinematography had some nice moments.
And the acting wasn't too bad either. Even if the characters didn't really have much going on. Surprisingly, I think Ryan Reynolds did the best job.

That's hardly a trait of modern sci-fi.

I'll take your word for it. Most horror movies I watch (sci-fi or otherwise) tend to be a bunch of people dying as a result of poor decision making (admittedly under duress).
