It's not a bad song, but I don't think anybody would really care about it if it wasn't a Metallica song.

Finally listened to it and I felt nothing. I'll give the album a listen though when it comes out just for shits and giggles.

Busty McCracken wrote:Pretty sure his band has proven that far far worse songs could have been written than this one.. after a few listens now I'm really digging it. Lyrics aren't groundbreaking & Lars drumming isn't either but neither of those have been on point for a long time now anyway so is expected.
I mean, it's cool if you like it and it doesn't matter who agrees.
But this is a pretty bad defense of any song.

I have low expectations from this band & didnt expect much from them so was surprised I enjoyed it. I wouldn't think thats such a bad reason for liking a song
Calfium Jay wrote:Musically that's pretty different for Nick Cave.
Sounds more like a blend of Bad Seeds and Grinderman to me.

That was never in dispute!

Musically that song would have sat perfectly on the last album which I presume Calfium never listened to.
Men are all wankers so that statement is meaningless, as to pompous, I can only surmise that some people find his talent intimidating. The man is a totally unique voice. He is certainly one of the most creative performers I have ever had the pleasure of seeing.
That song is quite haunting.

Yes haunting, or atmospheric might also describe it. He conjures great imagery with his words which his voice tone and the musical accompaniment amplify. You hear it when it is no longer there.
I hope one day Cal, one of those strange sounds you listen to will capture your heart and spin you sideways. Let it in! X

"Our plan right now is to start recording in October, November" he said. "So pretty soon. We've gotta keep it fresh. You write something, if you let it sit too long, if it's not completed and recorded… It's not as fresh as when you first come up with the ideas and you record it right away, because that's when you really hit the nail in the head."

Lustmord’s Album of Space Recordings Is a Reminder of Your Insignificance
Decades into his career, Lustmord still knows darkness. Three years ago, the dark ambient wizard released The Word as Power on Blackest Ever Black, a 73-minute journey through a desolately hellish landscape of demon chants. This past weekend, the Welsh producer announced Dark Matter, his first album since then, and shared a brief preview medley that shows the sort of terror you can expect. According to his Soundcloud (via Resident Advisor), the record's dread is "derived from an audio library of cosmological activity collected between 1993 and 2003"—a decade's worth of representations of space sounds.
