My condolences to the Carey family.

sorry to hear about Danny's pops. condolences to the Carey family and the other three members of the band.

Glad DC got to be there with him.

My condolences to Danny and his family.

So they sacrificed May May's mother for 10,000 days and now Danny's father for the new one, makes me wonder who they sacrificed for previous albums.

I think Adam gave up one of his pigs for Lateralus.

I was wondering how long it would be until either Tyson or Crow referenced Maynard's mum in regards to Bob's death.

I actually agree with Crow and Tyson.

Sure, i can understand that this is a hard time in Danny's life and i can empathize with him on that, but i am not going to pretend like Danny Carey's father's death has any affect on my life whatsoever.

I can appreciate that a person has died and you should always grieve that person's death in some form or another, but just giving your condolences over the internet is not going to change a thing.

None of us would honestly give a shit about the death of this person "Bob" if they were not the father of a person in a band we like.

That said, i give my condolences to the Carey family...

Fair enough.

I don't doubt for a second that some members here had a moment of, "Hey, Danny Carey lost [that person] - that fucking sucks. I sincerely wish he gets through this."

But why you would express such sentiment on a TOOL forum is beyond me.

Maybe I'm callous. I don't know. I just don't see the point.

That said, I thought it sucked when Paul Walker died. I didn't exactly give my condolences to his family, but I pointed out what a shitty way it was to end such a good life it was, on Facebook.

I guess my point is, I don't really understand how people DO things when it comes to deaths that don't directly affect them. Layne Staley's death hit me hard, as an example. Never knew the guy, but the way I heard it (waking up to it, literally, on my alarm radio), was pretty heavy.

I don't know. Be sad for right reasons, is what I'm saying. I guess.

Personally I don't see a big deal with people expressing sympathy for people who have had loved ones pass away recently, even if they have no real connection to the person in question.

I doubt many are sad per say, just trying to empathise.

Exactly..It is really of no consequence. Tolerance of others actions must come tough for some on here.

But they're so entirely removed from it to make it almost inconsequential.

Whatever makes you happy. I just think it's a little weird.
