>SENATOR-ELECT David Leyonhjelm clearly doesn't fear controversy.
>The Liberal Democrat, who was just elected to the federal parliament with almost nine per cent of the vote in NSW, has told TEN Late News that gun violence in the United States is largely a "black on black" problem.
>"A lot of it is due to drug-related black on black violence," Mr Leyonhjelm said last night.
>"If you took out the drug-related shootings, America has actually got not a huge problem with guns."

Heres some of the parties key policies:
The LDP does not generally support the criminalisation of victimless crimes and seeks to reduce the intrusion of government into these areas.
Victimless crimes include:
>Unlicensed prizefights and similar activities of a sporting nature where the players consent and the audience actively approves of what they see.
>Assisting someone to die at his or her request.
>Riding a motorcycle or bicycle without a helmet
>BASE jumping from city buildings
>Individual purchase and consumption of recreational drugs
>Driving a motor vehicle without a seatbelt
>Prostitution and/or soliciting for prostitution
>Public nudity and fornication
Some other gems are:
>The LDP believes government foreign aid, other than short term humanitarian relief, should cease.
>The LDP supports the legalisation of use, cultivation, processing, possession, transport and sale of cannabis, with protection of minors and penalties for driving while impaired.
>The LDP regards the right to own firearms for sport, hunting, collecting and self-defence as fundamental to a free society.
>Abolish all affirmative action programs
>Abolish all government funded programs and bodies that cater to particular ethnic, racial, religious or gender groups.
>Abolish government funding for bodies that promote group discrimination such as the Federation of Ethnic Communities' Councils of Australia.

Yay Australia
>Scrap the mining tax, so now miners can rape our natural resources and reap even bigger profits
>Scrap the carbon tax, so now heavy industries can fuck our environment for free
>Remove laws reuqiring the government to disclose boat arrivals, so it can appear that the boats have been stopped while they flood in
>Stop 1Gb/s FTTH plans and fuck the country over on 25-50Mb/s FTTN on an ageing copper network, while only being 30%~ cheaper than the FTTH plan, (though probably more expensive in reality with all the copper maintenance, and eventual need to replace it all)

Re: Australian politics thread
Fuck politics! You shouldn't discuss this shit with anyone - especially with your friends or family at the dinner table. So why here?
It never leads to any kind of stimulating conversation (i.e. boat people-nap time) and bitching about it won't change a thing.

Re: Australian politics thread
So when and where should you discuss politics? Or should we just let the powers that be do it all with no discussion or opinions provided?

Watching the labor leadership debate with bated breath. I feel it's a great idea that they have opened the leadership to it's members, but before coming one myself I want to see how this pans out.

Er....yeah. Suddenly you're all so "oppressed" and opportunities that once were there are now gone. The Boss wrote:I hate this government so very, very, much. They're destroying my life.
At the very least now the ADULTS are back in charge. No more grandstanding, no more fluffy attention seeking speeches about what a "wonderful job we as a government are doing".
No more spin, no more government by thought bubble, no more infighting. No more egomaniacal, sociopathic left wing dimwits running the country into the ground.
No more policies that backfire 3 months after being implemented. No more reckless spending and no more sucking Green cock.

And getting ready to be shot down in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1......

If you really thought I was being serious, you're insane.
That said, if you're an Abbott supporter, I have no choice but to assume that you have no soul and should be removed from this planet.
O love will you read the letters I will send to you.

Consider me to be a somewhat apprehensive Abbott supporter.

I can accept that. I'm very confident that the next three years will be an orgy of poor policy, and put the country back several years.Calfium Jay wrote:Consider me to be a somewhat apprehensive Abbott supporter.
Until that happens, I guess it's prudent to reserve too much judgement.
He has been a massive, gaping, cunt so far, though.
