If anyone here thinks Metallica scraped the bottom of the barrel with St Anger....they need to have a listen to Here Comes Revenge.
Cos.....hoo boy.

Yeah someone seriously needs to tell them to cut their songs by 3 - 4 minutes. Just drag on way too much. I really enjoyed spit out the bone, moth into flame & hardwired. Atlas rise has grown on me after a few spins & halo on fire, but not too much else has grabbed me.
I think part of the reason people are losing their shit over it is because it's the first time Metallicas actually sounded good production wise in 20 years.

Metallica Is Releasing 10 Music Videos In Two Days [Starting Today]
Get your popcorn ready. Metallica told us several weeks ago that they would be releasing a music video for every song on their upcoming album “Hardwired… To Self-Destruct”. We didn’t know it would come this soon — in the form of a worldwide release of ten music videos from different directors premiering around the world.
Metallica, moments ago, announced the groundbreaking move — one that will surely pay off for the band. Here’s what they had to say about their ambitious decision:
“We can’t wait any longer to share the songs and their videos with you, so we’re going to roll them out one by one every two hours here on metallica.com simultaneously with some of our online press partners throughout the world starting today at 9:00 AM PST.”
Here is Metallica’s entire music video premiere schedule over the next two days:
Wednesday, November 16
9:00 AM PST – “Dream No More” (Directed by Tom Kirk) – Gshow Globo, Brazil
11:00 AM PST – “Confusion” (Directed by Claire Marie Vogel) – Rolling Stone, USA
1:00 PM PST – “ManUNkind” (Directed by Jonas Åkerlund) – Bravewords, Canada
3:00 PM PST – “Now That We’re Dead” (Directed by Herring & Herring) – Pitchfork, USA
5:00 PM PST – “Here Comes Revenge” (Directed by Jessica Cope) – Triple M, Australia
7:00 PM PST – “Am I Savage” (Directed by Herring & Herring) – Ro69.JP (Rockin’ On), Japan
9:00 PM PST – “Halo On Fire” (Directed by Herring & Herring) – BiLD/Metal Hammer, Germany
11:00 PM PST – “Murder One” (Directed by Robert Valley) – Le Parisian, France
Thursday, November 17
1:00 AM PST – “Spit Out The Bone” (Directed by Phil Mucci) – NME, England
3:00 AM PST – “Lords of Summer” (Directed by Brett Murray) – Aftonbladet, Sweden
RIP what.cd - it was great while it lasted. I tend to stream most of my music these days with Google Play, but what.cd was crucial in the days before streaming music was viable.

DÄLEK RETURN TO IPECAC RECORDINGS; RELEASE ENDANGERED PHILOSOPHIES ON SEPT. 1
May 31, 2017, Union City, N.J. – Dälek, who have been “Mixing the searing political rhetoric of Public Enemy, the suffocating shoegaze textures of My Bloody Valentine and the primal appeal of squealing industrial noise” for over 18 years (Rolling Stone), return to Ipecac Recordings withEndangered Philosophies, the trio’s fifth Ipecac release and seventh album overall.
“Along with the Melvins and ISIS (the band), Dälek helped form the foundation of our label,” said Ipecac Recordings co-founder Greg Werckman. “We could not be happier to be working with them again. They remain unique and uncompromising and continue to defy genre limitations.”

With roots in the mid-‘90s DIY scene, Dälek has consistently released groundbreaking albums, starting with their 1998 debut EP, Negro Necro Nekros, which NME said saw the outfit “deconstruct hip hop” to 2016’s Asphalt for Eden, hailed by Pitchfork for its subtlety and restraint, saying “on Asphalt for Eden, hip hop ascends into the noosphere.”
