I think that would look that way to outsiders
but being in a band is like family,
if you're together any length of time, anyway.

He's probably said that because he's probably the one who's gotten the most blame/shit for the delay.

So I saw "Manhunter" last night followed by an interview / Q&A with Maynard. He mostly talked about the film specifically, but did talk about his various music projects including Tool briefly, but only when someone would ask a specific question. No new information other than him seeming increasingly frustrated with the slow process of making the new Tool album. When someone asked if Tool would consider making a concert video similar to Floyds "The Wall" he answered with "Well, if we could maybe finish the new album first then...yeah, we would consider it." Also with regards to the new album, he asked the audience "Do I seem like a lazy person? Than stop blaming me."

He gave some fascinating insights into his music making process and how it relates to the visuals in his live performances. Basically summarized - he pays a lot of attention to the pacing of things, not giving away too much too soon. He really lets Adam run the show when it comes to the music (something we already knew) and comes in after they have things composed to lay down vocals. He unabashedly called Adam a "control freak" when it comes to the process.

People asked a lot of questions about his favorite films and things like that. "Manhunter" was his first choice for the screening and is one of his favorites. He mentioned "The Exorcist", as well as film I've never heard of called "Bliss," and "Wings of Desire" among his favorites.
The interview was pretty cool, but from a Tool fans perspective there wasn't a whole lot of new information. I enjoyed the show and was glad I was there to see the man in person.

That's good to know.

Still, would it kill people to proofread their shit before submitting it? I would expect you'd have a bit of pride when doing a write-up of something thousands of people might see.

If you think that "If you think i'm a lazy person don't blame me" is a tease to the new album you're an idiot.

Thanks for the share Z. Miss joker though

Thanks Raven, nothing happening in the Tool world it would seem, unless this is some elaborate code.

Now that Cinquanta is done, I expect and hope that we might see some progress.

Nope, just with no Puscifer, APC or Volto! stuff on the horizon, I can't see many excuses left for them not being able to get some runs on the board.

Oh, OK.

Not sure how sound that logic is with regard to this band, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I enjoy most of them too. I could relate to Blair on this one cause I also prefer to find a not so common book/cd/etc in a store rather than online.

Well if memory serves me right, this is around the time of year the past few years when he's gone on tour with Puscifer or APC. That COULD be a sign but as you said, with these guys, who knows.

I accept your point, but the fact is that none of the members seem to have anything booked at the moment (though I could be wrong in regards to Volto!) which is the first time in recent memory this has happened. I'm sure I'm reading too much into it, but I am an optimist.
