First Fear Inoculum listen approach?
Re: First Fear Inoculum listen approach?
I have no clue what streaming service is best, so I'll likely resort to a YouTube full album channel. Run that bad boy through the BT Bose mini. Don't own headphones. 2 fingers Buffalo Trace.
Re: First Fear Inoculum listen approach?
For my first listen of Fear Inoculum I will most likely be putting on my Beer Binoculum...
..and headphones, probably streaming it from Deezer since it doesn't look like the regular CD edition will be available until later (and I can't afford the bigass Limited Edition right now)

Re: First Fear Inoculum listen approach?
Think I'm just gonna go in with a clear mind, sit in my room with some good headphones, and dig in. I'm super hyped for CCTrip, and part of me wants to trip while I listen it to it for the first time, but I think it's probably better just to do it all once with all of my wits in tact. Definitely jumping on the leak when it drops.

Decided I'm going to take a day and go on a long drive to somewhere I haven't been before, probably the Blue Mountains, a nice 6 hour round trip or so. My Rodeo doesn't have the best sound system but it is fucking loud and will let me take in basic bare bones of the album, that way I can go listen for the subtleties later. Just hit that on repeat and nothing but me, Tool and the open road.
Canned audience laughter
Re: First Fear Inoculum listen approach?
I like how even when the CD leaks, we still won't be able to get the full album because we won't have the digital version available yet, so we get a sort of directors cut version the second time around.

I just bought me a job flip 5 pretty much because of this album. I go camping and outdoors a lot. Was time for an upgrade with something that can handle the bass a bit better.

I'll probably just listen to it digitally, be it Spotify or Youtube or whatever. I bought the Limited Edition CD, but I'm unsure if I'll open it! Also, I'm new so Hello!

@basejumper Lucky you

- You like noisy music?
- Yes. The louder the better. Stops me from thinking.
- You don't like to think? What do you like?
- Never thought about it.

Ill probably be by myself at home with a cup of tea. Not sure DMT, an LSD hit or even a cookie would encourage my full listening attention. Not to say it wouldn't be fun on subsequent listens though.

I love for some how it is going to be such a religious ceremony to listen to the new album. But, hey....to each their own. I would imagine I have a couple drinks and play it on the back porch so my neighborhood can hear all that is Tool even if they don't want to.

Great stereo + trainwreck kingp.
Had not heard any song from new lp in any format (excluding '14 a/descending).
Totally fresh ears. was only listening to Flood and Jambi the other day....and then... one fateful morning before sunrise, WHAM!!!
This experience has me completely floored. that is all. spiral out.

Re: First Fear Inoculum listen approach?
Can you believe there are people who think this shit sucks? Even when a real obviously unique piece of art is created, people still literally use the word garbage when describing it..

I'm not surprised. The internet is frequently a race to the bottom, with points awarded for how hard you can shit on things. Those kind of people have opinions that should not be regarded. In fact the less we point them out, the better.

Taken Lucy at a couple Tool shows but have yet to use magic mushrooms. Intend to for the upcoming tour if I can manage to get a ticket..
