Warhead, Black Betty, Set It On Fire and In Every Dreamhouse A Heartache were pretty good I thought.  The rest were varying levels of meh.

All the albums since A Senile Animal are fucking great! Hellboy is a monster!

Hospital Up has one of the sickest basslines I've heard in my time on earth.

I didn't see the point of the Melvins songs on that release. They just sound like the album versions mixed worse. The two Isis tracks though... goddamn. Those two songs still make me weep for what might've come had they stayed together (or felt invigorated enough to do so, anyway).

that's the reason why I am holding on tight to the Palms release. pop or not, if you like the Deftones or not. that album could be Cindi Lauper cover songs and I'd still bang it.

speaking of Isis, I put my older cousin on to them last night. she taught me to play guitar when I was 10. out of my two older female cousins one put me on to Tool, V.O.D. & NIN. the other (the one I wrote to last night) put me onto Alice In Chains, Nirvana & The Melvins when I was a pre-teen. this is what I wrote to open her mind to a great experimental prog metal band...

"this is "Backlit" off of their 3rd LP, probably the one you will really like. the intro to the song almost has an eerie Smashing Pumpkins (think Gish) guitar/drum/bass kinda feel to it. it's beautiful. if you set this to a sped up travel video, maybe New Zealand? or Austrailia, it would definitely take you places.."

what does everyone think, is Backlit a good song to start someone on?

I would just say that whole album. But I'm biased because that's what originally got me into ISIS.

Also... FUCK YEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAH

I assume that it's the Big Business lineup when they just say "The Melvins" now right? Please say yes?

To be honest though, I'm not sure that's a great thing - they haven't put out a really good album since A Senile Animal.

Last good one was Pigs Of The Roman Empire (2004)

Do you like The Melvins to begin with? If so... I don't think I'm being hyperbolic in saying you're in for one of the best shows of your life. Double that if it's the Big Business lineup (in my opinion).

Honestly, I haven't listened to much.  I have a few friends who are pretty big fans, and I love live music in general.  Especially at a local bar.  Where I'm from we don't get good acts here EVER.  This bar is a pretty good venue too.  They have a nice little stage outside In a little courtyard area surrounded by other bars.  If anyone from my area is planning to go let me know.

We're taking a band field-trip to see them in New Orleans in August. Yessssssssssssss. The last show we saw with them at One Eyed Jack's was one of the most powerful, mind-blowing live music experience of my life. Seriously.
