I think it's funny that he says he left Tool because it was too creatively stifling, yet since he left they've been arguably far more creative than they were on Undertow.
Regardless, I reckon it would have been really interesting to see where Tool had gone with Paul staying in the band...
Completely and totally agree. FEERSUM ENJIN EP was so fucking promising. It was just unreal.
Paul has always been THAT KID in my class. Really smart (to a fault, almost). Always willing to point out how capable he is. But never, ever gave me any reason to think that he would ever fulfill his potential.
Cold thing to say, yeah, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.
"The Fourth" is one of the best songs I've heard in a very long time. very well put together. does/did Paul do all of the arranging for the Feersum stuff?

i have a question that i've been trying to find the answer to for quite some time. If I had to guess, I would say this happened the last 4 or 5 shows that i went to. In between the opening band and tool they've played the same songs while the techs are getting everything set up. One song in particular I'm looking for the name of. It's a rammstein song, it's heavy as hell and was played during the break for sure at San Fran 3/11/14 and 3/12/14, Boston 1/28/12 and toronto 1/25/12. There has to be one person who can identify this song. I've rummaged through the rammstein catalog looking for it but i cant find it. Joined this blog community just to find the answer.Help

I have no idea, but I'm going to guess this one:
From memory they also played a Rammstein track prior to the Adelaide show as well. Can't remember which one but I reckon it was from their newest album.

Interesting painting.
Note for future posters that this is not The Grudge thread...

His hands are different sizes. I wonder if that was on purpose. While she's not the most original artist she does have talent, I'd imagine it was on purpose.

"C'mon Adam.... if I have to drag your ass to the Loft to finish that Tool record then I'll do it!"
"Baby I can't, you know I'm getting old and my heart can't take it and besides, I think peed myself."

Yeah that painting is an accurate depiction of Adam worried about the critics response to the new album.

Thanks ziggy! I didn't think Korin would paint that. How could you leave out Adam's grey streaks?

The Dark Tower definitely came to mind when I first saw it. I don't know if it's because I've seen that picture before or what, but that guy reminds me of someone and I cannot figure out who it is.

No.
All I see is Adam now, but when I first saw it I had a strong feeling of recognition. I think it's gone now though; I can't figure it out. It was probably just a character in one of The Dark Tower books.

Here's a good "dumbed down" version of the legal issues facing Tool should anyone be interested:
Well, first of all I think Cam & TooL could have settled it outside of court. Especially if Cam and Adam had been long time friends.
But that part is done now.
Only remains the case of insurance company vs Tool. TooL shot themselves in the foot by hiring them it seems.
Thanks for the link.

It seems that way, though having the insurance no doubt seemed like a good idea at the time (and if they win, still a good idea).
Really, I don't care too much about this legal case, I just want to see it out the way so that we can hear the end of it being used as an excuse.
